so no one has anything to say about this laptop for the mass!

DirtyDanza 11-03-2007 02:45 PM

isint that the one that you gotta buy 1 for 100 but in order to get that you have to buy another one for a kid in another country or some shit for 100 so in reality it's 200 for yours and the kid gets his free?

D 11-03-2007 02:47 PM

I think when the day comes that I have kids, I'll consider something similar for their first laptop.

because I already have a laptop that's quite a bit more functional than that one.

So do I. But this one is so much easier to use in public places that a conventional notebook.

riddler 11-03-2007 04:56 PM

i would rather buy a OQO..

CreatineGuy 11-03-2007 05:01 PM

why would someone use that shitty notebook?

i could never give it a use... you cant use it to build blogs, submit galleries or encode video..

Thats why im getting it, im at the mall waiting for my wife bored out of my mind. I can take it to surf or at the coffee shop or hotels. I have a full function laptop but to just carry it around is a major pain in the ass.

what makes it easier to use? My laptop fits nicely on any table and/or my lap. Actually I think that smaller one would be a pain in the ass to use if it were just sitting on my lap.

SomeCreep 11-03-2007 05:05 PM

nah, looks built for midgets.

I think they originally announced it for $200 USD for the basic model.

tony286 11-03-2007 05:08 PM

The reason it went up in price they stated is lcd prices went up. To me its very cool and I plan on having one soon. Also its only $400 bucks.

Example, with two people seating on a small table, like those found at coffee shop, with each a coffee and a donut, they're much easier to use....

I don't know about encoding videos, but I'm sure you can edit blogs and other webpages, hand submit galleries, upload files into your servers, etc. It's not intended to replace your more powerful laptop tho.

the OQO is more of a subnotebook and too small to use for most people. See the size difference between the two below.

Yup. "less is more" seems to be the strategy Asus is applying for their eee PC
