no site is better, as a site can't take into consideration the domain itself, just FACTS about the domain... sex.com is worth a lot more because of the type ins, can a site distinguish that? nope... best bet is to pay someone who actually deals with domains to give you a professional appraisal

A domain name is worth nothing. Certain domain names get some type in traffic, but you can buy a domain name for $10 and buy some traffic and have a better go at it.

The domain name isn't worth shit. It's what's on the domain name that's worth money.

I've never understood why a domain name is worth anything.

You can buy sex.com for $10million, and yeah, it gets type in traffic, or you can buy "ifuckuglynastyhoes.com" for $9, spend $1 million to develop something, and then $1 million to push traffic at it and still have better results....

that tool is sort of ridiculous. It's based on traffic and links, but doesn't take into account conversion rates or income generated.
I'd say that what people do once they get to the site is as important as to how they got there (ppc, refferal, bookmark or type in). Having a domain name that's memorable will improve it's chances of success, but isn't generally enough to build an empire from alone.
That being said, I'd also think it would be odd for the people that bought the site for money like that to just sit on it and try and sell the type in traffic alone. I know it's been plagued in the past, so in order to invest in it like that, i'd say there has to be a plan.

I totally agree. Ive been online for 10 years and only once did I go to sex.com just to check it out and never went back because theres nothing there. But other adult sites Ive gone back again and again and they've gotten my money because they had content.
