The US Dollar is worth $1 in the USA !WTF WTF WTF!
Yes its true 1 U.S. dollar gets you exactly $1.00 in the USA...life is good:thumbsup
|
Not if your buying gas, we are getting hosed compared to when someone else in another country buys the same amount in their native countries currency.
|
fuck buying. It's siphon time!
|
Only in America
|
I'm going to start out sourcing all my work to the US. It's cheaper to pay Americans with my Canadian dollar than it is to hire Canadians.

lol but if you buy anything from for example China you will have to pay more dollars for the same products. Everything you import to the USA is more expensive to you because of the weak dollar.
|
For me it sucks major low dollar

Only into constant cigar puffing here and they cost nothing, a bottle of beer is around 50 cents (not crap) and the general quality of food (healthwise etc) is far superior to North America or the EU. |

can you drive 5 mins to the store and pick up a 1 pound steak..2 pounds of king crab legs..a bottle of wine..fresh fruit and veggies....clean bottled water and a box of tampons...and make it home in time to watch any movie that came out in the last 50 years on your 60inch plasma tv:helpme |

Fish, meat, fruit and veggies are no biggie here - it's kinda what they do and locally this stuff costs very little in comparison to stores in North America or the EU (in fact, fairly expensive in the EU). The country has many varieties of fruit and veg - some I'd never heard of until living here. (Think there are over 50 varieties of oranges alone). Na.. nobody on this planet has my cigars :winkwink: They are hand-rolled locally and no additive stuff, and cost... think about 3-4 cents and come by the carrier bag :1orglaugh Only thing is you need a decent humador or that quantity is going to dry out quick. Seriously... they are still a health hazzard from the smoke and nasty habit, but ya never end up coughing and spluttering. The beer is a local brew and, never knew this till recently - there is a reasonable demand from other countries for this. One girl was having a consignment flown out regularly - totally mad going to these lengths for a beer! :) |

Im not bashing the US, I lived and worked there for 10 years and I love SF bay area but when I moved out and settled down in Hong Kong I realized that my quality of life didnt get worse and since tax is less here I end up taking more home every month. Most of the people who are complaining about the US $ are ones who live outside the US and get paid in US$....I had a friend who recently travelled from SF to London for a week and he told me he wont be going back till the US$ gets stronger cause it was almost twice as expensive for him than the last time he went. |

It's not my job to run around supermarkets and, same as you, the maid does that and the cooking. She'd think I was trying to steal her job :winkwink: |
prices will be higher in the US due to the low dollar, but you can pretend there are no problems

You REALY have no idea about the world at all, do you? :1orglaugh |
I'll tell you this: 1 USD = 1 USD in the States and the European shouldn't whine about it. They're no concern to you.
But I bet you 10 to 1 a lot of Americans are going to whine about how expensive a trip to Europe will be. "No, can't make it to the show, it's way overpriced". Yeah..overpriced :1orglaugh |
wow... buy and sell:)
|
I get paid in USD so it sucks.

Believe it or not, here in Canada... we have stores where you can get that stuff to. Strange huh? In fact, we export many of those things to the US.... Angus steaks, Niagara and Okanaga wines... Seriously, you should try learning about other countries before making such ridiculous statements about them. |
Quote:
What are you smoking my man?? :winkwink: No, everything you export to China (and elsewhere) will be cheaper - not more expensive! And... your wontons, other imports and oil will cost you more because you are paying in lower valued dollars. The problem is not with China or other countries - it's with the value of the US dollar and overall you lose out on this - eg .. costs more to travel outside the US and it will cost more to live in it. The flipside is US dollar paying sponsors are paying foreign webmasters less "value" in currency and, if it continues, they will probably signup with non-US sponsors. The same applies to US webmasters. What would you want per signup? US$ 29.95 or 29.95 Euros? It's a hard decision eh? :winkwink::thumbsup |
Yeah, congrats on becoming a 3rd world country

Also i can gaurantee more than half the shit in your kitchen is made in the USA..other than beer ,crepes, indoor weed and fish what good comes out of canada? also i really dont think this way i just spew this craptoo ruffle feathers of the gullable :2 cents: |

Canada just put up the price of your oil, timber, coal, gold, silver - and roll-on forever-list :pimp But.. they will kinda like the idea of buying US stuff cheap - and don't try to spam them off with Chinese imports - they can buy that cheaper from China. So... be nice to your customers :1orglaugh:thumbsup |
Quote:
I often laugh at people here even, encouraging the "buy Canadian!" thing.... yeah right. My house would be a pretty empty place if all I ever bought was stuff made in Canada. |

Which basically means you shouldn't expect a single educated word out of this guy's mouth :1orglaugh |
