Yep. I was a business strategy consultant during the dot bomb craze. I wrote business plans and did business analysis for a failed incubator and its related companies and venture capital arm. It allowed me to pay off all college and grad school loans. There's more money in pr0n though :)

only 20%? i thought the number would be much higher. i remember a buddy of mine started up a company that sold eclectic products, like hemp coffee filters. talk about destined for failure.

I know 3 guys that all they did was business plans at 25K a pop included financial projections etc.

yep, noticed that too. Should be more along the lines of 90%. I was associated with over 7 startups during my biz consultant days....all dotbombs all failed.

20% is low but many VC's are holding off reporting them as closed so they can rape some investors in the meantime.

But one thing for sure you can still raise money for the right idea.

I met the CEO of the biggest UK dotbomb

I told him how I could save his company. He didn't listen because he still bought into the old school dotbomb business model.

They are ofcourse sold, for peanuts, then effectively collapsed.

I invented a whole new financial instrument for those dumb people while they stood around counting banner impressions. Oh well they would probably have fucked my product up anyway.

I dont know about him, but I shorted some real dogs....NETE, and QCOM is the only ones I remmeber, as I was sort of daytrading mostly back then. NETE in particular, I shorted from $32 I believe and then I went on the yahoo boards, and told everyone how convinced I was that this stock was gonna drop to the teens in a week(based on some charting). I was rediculoud naturally...a week later, the stock was down to $15, although I covered at $19....

I actually came away with 2 followers after that episode...but then I made a few bad picks, and they left me. LoL.

nice job on that pick. Thats a gutsy move... I don't like shorting any non-technology stocks right now. Obviously evereyone is hurting right now, but I try and short where the hurt is the most.

There was a guy on ragingbull, about 2 years ago, and he seemed like he knew what he was talking about with alot of his picks...2 years ago he posted that the bottom on nasdaq would be 850 based on some wacky charting. I never forgot his prediction, because at the time, it was unthinkable....

But now, Im thinking this guy may have just called it...It would be so freaky if it actually happens, but its very doable at this point.

liquidating all of those uber exxpensive redwood and oak executive desks and all of the foosball tables and other shite the bigger dotbombs spent their money on......picking up a $6000 desk for $2500 and selling it for 5K...mmmmmmmmm, profit margins make me hard.........
