how accurate is alexa???

just something id like to know. for example

http://traffic.alexa.com/graph?c=1&f...=3&h=300&w=610

look at those stats

p1mpdogg 11-01-2007 03:50 PM

epiccash ranks higher than 3 very popular aff programs and allot more established.

make any sense?

Alexa is good for measuring webmaster traffic.

I would say it's not accurate at all BUT... gives a general enough guideline that you can at least tell if you're growing, shrinking... stuff like that.

ok, but based on what i posted, does this measure success by any means?

i would think not... i know cecash does better than epic, i dont know about the other 2. but epic ranks higher than cecash... i dunno, maybe im not reading into their stats correctly

Unless things have changed, Alexa bases its traffic on people that visit the site that have the Alexa toolbar.

Personally, the only people I know that have installed that are webmasters, ergo, it is a good tool for measuring webmaster traffic.

ive never even seen the alexa toolbar. i dont see it advertised anywhere at all... so this cant be a good way to measure traffic at all. especially surfer traffic
