LaGuardia to the Hilton

best means of travel? cab? subway? towncar?

How much cash should I put away for that ride?

tony286 10-31-2007 08:28 PM

if you get caught in funky traffic it can cost a mint. If you go the taxy route.

Saying I should get a flat rate towncar? Wonder if the Hilton has a service.

the Shemp 10-31-2007 08:33 PM

i'd arrange a car service in advance..its a set rate, plus the guy will hold up a "baddog" sign for you.....

tony286 10-31-2007 08:35 PM

flat rate would be the way to go, the hilton should have a concierge.Call him or her tell them your staying there and what you need they will help you with someone that wont try to rip you off.

Cheapest - Bus to Port Authority and then from there Taxi/Subway.

Easiest - Taxi.

Yeah, for some reason I don't think "cheapest" is going to fit into the equation. "Most reasonable" would be more like it.

Well, at that price I am not going to waste time trying to find a better deal. Was expecting to pay $100, at least.

Lindeys right next to the Radio city makes awesome cheese cake and has pretty good food

radio city is in the same area as the hiton

most of the "Old style diner" i know are all down in the village.

Make sure to go to Mott St in China town for some great authentic chinese. Angelo's of Mulberry st is another of my favorite in Little Italy.

Carnegie deli is another awesome place for authentic NY deli.

Its been a long time since i lived there but alot of those places are still happening

Forest 11-01-2007 11:28 AM

a few more

In china town go to Mandarin Court on Mottst or the Peking Duck house. I know Mandarin has Dim Sum on sat and sun for lunch. If u have never had real Dim Sum dining this is a treat.

SPQR in Little italy has great food and is fairly upscale. Ferraros is a staple in Little Italy for deserts. But the little mom and pop bakeries usually have better deserts.

One if by land Two is by sea is an amzing place but pricey

Yeah, it is NYC. I guess the word "cheap" doesn't really fit well in Manhattan. :1orglaugh
