i applaud their motives, but this is borderline censorship. who decides what is cp? who decides which sites to block?

If it was ordered by a court (rather than just some cops trying to have it shut down on their own), then maybe the people who own the sites were given a chance to respond in court before they were blocked?

I would hope that would be the case. If they are ordering them blocked, before giving the owners of the site a chance to prove they are not illegal, then that's fucked.

Just to cause problems (not that i actually care) But, if some 18 yr old legal chick looked 12-16, and you had quite a few sets of this kind of content and you advertised it as CP, you dont think it
should still be blocked, even though it is legal?


Im not saying kill off the teen sites just kill off the CP marketting aspect of it ;)

I pretty much agree with the Supreme Court when they recently said that the reason for making child porn illegal is to protect the victims of child porn.

If there are no children (people under 18 using U.S. law) then there are no victims, and there is no crime.

I do not subscribe to the idea that we should make fantasies of illegal acts illegal as well. If we did, then many movies, books, music, artwork, thoughts, and dreams would have to be outlawed as well.

I think this country needs more censorship.

People bitch and complain that we are losing our rights and all that sort of BS.

They are against cencorship untill somebody uses an assult riffle on a loved one, or takes underaged pictures of their daughters and puts them on the net.


When the constitution was written, I dont think our forefathers were thinking about assult riffles and internet child porn.

Times have changed, and society is fucked up.

while I applaud worldcom doing something about, just arbitrarily shutting down sites isn't the answer...what if they decide something YOU have on YOUR site is inappropriate or the get a new CEO from the deep south who comes froma state where sodomy is illegal and decides to block your sites becuase of it?

I don't support child porn but I firmly believe in that whole silly annoying legal thing we have "innocent until proven guilty".

IF they are indeed found to be dealing in child porn, then by all means prosecute and punish, but until they are proven to be dealing in it, they deserve the same rights as everyone else.
