The rules from VISA are that the bank has to destroy the card and send it back to the issuing bank.
Sometimes the bank will make exceptions, try contacting them asap and explain the situation.

I will have to find someone to put some cash on my epass in the meantime.....

There's always western union man. had the same shit happen to me last year.

One card got eaten and the other one didn't work because I had it in my pocket, next to the hotelkey, which contains a magnet. That magnet disables you card. Nobody told me about a magnet in a key.
