SEO- Penalties for .info, .net, .biz?
If you've got a great domain name, but with an offbeat extension, do search engines care?
|
If it's country specific, yes.
Net, com, and org are your best bets. I have no personal experience with biz or info, so I couldn't comment. |
get .net or .info first, if you can
I wouldn't reg an .org or .biz for SEs though |

haven't had good results with .info's

Search engines do not care about the extension, .name will rank same as .com in google.com (international)
But, when it comes to country specific search engine, .ca will rank better than .com in google.ca and .co.uk will rank better than the rest in google.co.uk. To answer your question, .info .net and .biz have no setback when it comes to international search engines. So, you can use them without worrying. Make sure your visitor can remember them easily. |
They all rank the same for me!

imho it does NOT matter. why .com, .net, .orgs are more often seen in the top 10 of a search results, may be the fact that other tlds do not exist for a long time. and as you probably know google prefers older domains than young horses :) not to forget that older domains (.coms) hat more time to get links then.. and so on :D

In my eyes .org is best and I do just fine with .biz. |
