A cavet: scienceblogs.com actually think Alexa is good for tracking traffic :1orglaugh Alexa isn't very good at that. However, even if we concede that, they do raise an interesting point about USER-generated porn vs. "corporate" or business-generated porn.

I doubt "communized" porn will ever conquer this industry. Alter it? Yes.

Besides, user-generated content can be capitalized through various methods.

Or maybe not.

Depends on how well site owners can monetize that content. No one will keep running a site that doesn't make a profit.

I've been saying it for years now. Home made porn is going to be very negative for the industry.

Webcam technology is the key thing to watch here. Once people have the ability to easily stream great quality, good size video.... once ISP speeds increase and hosting bandwith gets cheaper.... once there are enough services to support this.... once exhibitionists can easily show themselves to people who can easily find exactly what they are looking for.... I think at that point the industry is going to have to offer something far better than the pure shit that is on 98% of paysites today.

Year after year this industry as a whole continues to lower the bar on itself. So I don't find it far fetched at all that people operating out of their bedrooms purely for social reasons could deal blows to us about five years from now.

At the end of the day, people will quickly get bored of very low quality videos of people they would never want to see naked fucking in a dark room and making noises like sheep. Most user generated porn I have seen is between unwatchable and poor man's comedy.

User generated content, without proper model releases is likely to be the place that the DoJ goes to enforce with 2257 out the window. Pick a a couple of models that look underage, get a judge to sign a warrant, and they come knocking on your door looking for proof that the model isn't underage. Without that model release (or the ability to point to the primary producer that gave you the material under contract) you will be very far up shit's creek indeed.

If you have a good quality product that people want, they will pay money for it.

Now, if I was making my money off of amateur housewives sites, I would be somewhat concerned, as this stuff is going to be pretty much right there.

Yeah, that's why user generated singing killed the music industry.
Bars don't play the juke box, use DJ's or hire bands anymore since the people in the bar can sing their own songs.
