I care about pr, but as long as traffic is stable I guess it doesnt matter much

I think it would be more appropriate to say that higher PR doesn't necessarily mean that you will get ranked higher for the keyword you are trying to target.

I care about PR as long as it is a factor in Google's algo.

Its been said here and there on GFY. Just think its funny that for something that is supposedly dead, people sure try hard to appease it.

It may some value but I just had most of sites drop in rank with the last update but I have seen no reduction in traffic so it does not seem to have that much effect.

Actually, listening to those saying it's dead is a good way to determine who actually knows something about SEO and who doesn't.
