One section is really cool & then the other section (my section of course) is nothin' but little puck ass gangbangers. I can't stand these little fucks!

Exactly! The next block west there's a crack house next to a brand new, very modern home owned by some young couple. My block's shit tho. The only reason I still live here is cuz one, I like my apt., two, the price is still reasonable in this are & three...I hate moving!

I always laugh when I go clubbing on Milwaulkee and try to find a parking space on the back streets and see nice half a mil lofts then on the next block a notorious project.

I guess people buy lofts and townhomes thinking, "One day they they are all gonna get shot or go to jail then my property value will skyrocket!!"

I wish I could! I had to stop drinking. :( It kept getting me into more trouble than it was worth...lol. Waking up in handcuffs or the hospital was no longer fun after I reached 25...it just took me a few years to figure that out! :1orglaugh I still go out tho once in a while.

Yeah...this hood has been slowly goin' thru the whole genrifacation process for the last 15 yrs. or so. I remember when I was in high school & I was in this punk rawk band. Our record company was right on North Ave, between AShland & Damen (near the Real World house...lol) & it was such a shitty neighborhood back then! I used to dread having to take the El over there for meetings. But now...shit! It's a hipper area to live in than Lincoln Park.

For those of you wondering what I'm talking about, Chicago is easily one of the coldest cities in America! The combination of being in the northern midwest and being located on the lake make it incredibly cold. Winter temps of -20 below are common! It also gets very windy so the nickname given to that ice cold breeze that hits you and goes directly through your clothes is 'The Hawk.'

Exactly! It feels like that ice cold wind is blowin' right thru your body. Then the lake effect makes the weather here very strange. It could be a blizzard here, but only 10-15 milesd away it's sunny & nice weather. Ugh. Don't remind me...it's right around the corner. :(

Well...it's a long ways away, but if ya think about it, next summer when ya come down, contact me. I can't handle the Taste, too many outta-towners (nothin' personal)...but as I'm sure ya know, there's like a million street fests & they're always a good time. Not too mention a ton of bras/clubs/restaurants...
