Just a preference change. Thats' the thing about nicknames... they don't have to be permanent.

polish_aristocrat 10-27-2007 05:57 AM

people sit down, turn off the music, take a paper and a pen and write down the advantages and disadvantages which they expect will be result of their name change

if they can count more "+" than "-" they decide to change their name and do so by alerting the moderator and expressing their desire

then they come here and announce their new nickname, which then constitutes a good opportunity for the webmasters who wish to increase their postcount to come in their threads and say "cool, congrats on the name change dude"

In most cases it's just to hide.

Sad fact is most of the known trolls are too stupid to realize how easily their shit is spotted.

I'm of course speaking about guys who reg a new name rather than request their existing nick be altered. With the latter, in several cases I've noticed it's about reflecting the new company the person is now with.

TeaBag 10-27-2007 06:51 AM

I asked Ice to change mine to my real name cause I'd rather people call me by my real name then a nickname given to me back in 98 when I started in this industry.

I'm to old for the nickname thingy :winkwink:
