It's official, my family is growing
 

Thursdays are a traditional father/daughter evening, in that every Thursday that I am home, my daughter and I go out to dinner. Since tonight is her birthday, we invited her boyfriend to join us.

Well, she had a very nice ring on her finger tonight. Turns out he formally proposed to her and she accepted.

Wedding will be May 30, 2008.

Well, he did not exactly "ask permission."

I knew something was up a few months ago, that he had intentions. Went to lunch with him and my daughter a few times, and he came to a family event. I gave him the green light just through my actions and interactions.

He (they) was concerned when I first met him, but as stated above, I know my daughter's high standards, and I had told her long ago that if she ever presented someone to me that she really had feelings for I was going to be receptive.

Actually, his family owns a very popular chain of Mexican restaurants in the LA area. The dowry is an unlimited supply of homemade tamales from his mother.
