babe10.com a good domain name?
 

Is babe10.com a good domain name? I bought it a while back and never used it but was thinking about starting up a babe TGP with it. It is simple and the 10 seems to indicate 10/10, or perfect, babes. What do you think?

or the 10 could also mean that you were so slow in getting around to it that 9 other people thought of it before you.

BTW, I don't care if you guys insult the domain name. The point of this thread is to see your comments, good and bad. I have had some of the worse domain names ever. My first one sucked ass (newbie mistake) and still sucks ass. I already know GFY filled with negativity anyway. :321GFY If I told you it was a TGP with 100k hits then your opinions would be different. Give me what you got.

it's not all that bad HQ... but the name isn't almighty..... it's what you do with it that matters.

Personally, i don't like it. I don't hink babe and 10 go very well together at all.

(Not to defend myself or my insecurities. :)) It was the simpliest 'babe' domain name I could find. It's hard to find 'add-ons' to good single work domain names. Of course www.babe.com is taken, so where do you go next? www.nudebabes.com must be gone, www.babegalleries.com gone, etc... they are all long. www.babe10.com was the shortest I could find that still sounded half-decent.

I am of the opinion that a domain name does not have the importance that many people seem to place upon them. In my opinion babe10 is as good as most for a TGP site or other types of sites as well. It will ultimately be how well you manage the site, not the domain. Why would anyone have thought thehun would be a particularly good domain name. It wasn't, but it is now.

I completely agree. www.thehun.net would get worse reviews than www.babe10.com now, which is why I said the comment about how different the comments would be if it were already a 100k TGP.

That being said, I still would rather have a good sounding domain name over a shitty one with same traffic. Perhaps The Hun is not so bad as he wants bookmarkers and people can remember The Hun better than Babe 10. (I.E., was that babe1.com or babe10.com or 10babe.com or babe100.com or???)

...off topic... always seems to be a banner or 2 broken on the hun (just checked and saw one)...

Let me ask you a question. When you find a site that you like, any site, do you bookmark that site? I don't try to remember domain names. Do you?

His advertisers (generally) host their own banners. That happens all the time.

Put a wicked design and sweet graphics on it with some spankable babe galleries and work it.

HQ knows what makes a good free site, he's got several of them.

I have visited sites both through bookmarks and through type-ins. So, yes I bookmark a site, but on top of that I have visited sites that I have not bookmarked through type-ins.

True, I do know how to make good free sites :), which is what really matters. The domain name really makes no difference to how well I do anyway. This was more of a personal opinion question more than a will-I-succeed-with-this-domain-name question.

To each his own I guess. I have categorized folders in my favorites and if I like a site I drop the link into the appropriate folder. I don't think it is sloppy. I call it as being organized.

HQ - Personally, I thikn it's fine. A domain doesn't mean dick. The big boys aren't there because of the domain name. The hun is a perfect example. The green Guy, al4a, elephant list, none of this screams "EASY PLACE TO GET FREE PORN!"

And personally, at least you can talk to someone and say "Hey, check out www.babe10.com" and they'll spell it right, unless they're from Alabama. :winkwink:

I give Babe10.com a 7.2. You could do a lot with it, but it won't take you anywhere without a great site behind it. Good luck with the site, if you decide to work to make it something big, it might get there.

IMHO a domain name has to be evaluated in two areas:

1) Type in attraction - will anyone type in babe10.com just to see what's there? Sex.com rocks because thousands of people per day type it in.

2) Branding - this is more important for non-adult sites looking to run radio or TV ads and make sure people don't forget what they hear by the time they get home. Also for word of mouth.

I guess there is a third... search engine relevance - does it help you get up on listings? This is more complex to answer and it all depends on your skills with SE spamming anyway.

Definitely good points. I think the typein attraction is practically gone, so I look for SE spots and also becuase I traffic trade, the 'look'. I could not believe how much the title "Sexy Teacher" pulled in one of my recent trades. I had to write my tracker so it would remove the links once the site got enough clicks.
