You have to live with the stigma of buying something of Marilyn Mansons'.

teg0 10-24-2007 04:18 PM

Az A Bay Bay 10-24-2007 04:20 PM

TCAP 10-24-2007 04:26 PM

Looks like most of the rent by the day house locations in the Valley.

tony286 10-24-2007 04:29 PM

Those pics were shot with a wide angle lens so the rooms look huge. I saw him on mtv cribs,it was a small modest house.

bDok 10-24-2007 04:31 PM

for 1.1 million that's not a bad deal in california.

Sebastian Sands 10-24-2007 04:44 PM

that seems to be a great deal.. I wonder why?

aico 10-24-2007 04:46 PM

Something has to be wrong with it, that's too cheap for a house like that.

Zuzana Designs 10-24-2007 04:51 PM

yea something is wrong with it .. to cheap for cali ..

Arkantiger 10-24-2007 05:01 PM

just charge it to my virtual visa :thumbsup

escorpio 10-24-2007 05:12 PM

Seems suspiciously cheap. Are they building a prison next door or something?

aico 10-24-2007 05:15 PM

Is he going thru a divorce? Sometimes that is a reason to sell shit so cheap, so you fuck over the ex.

D 10-24-2007 05:29 PM

Yeah... the price seems a bit low.

SomeCreep 10-24-2007 05:30 PM

Ewh, no way, he's weird. He probably did pee and poop on the floors.

It's a persona, hes actually a very relaxed person... he even explained on Howard Stern's show that he does it because thats what his fans expect, its his job thats what he does.

RevSand 10-24-2007 06:09 PM

Thats a decent area and a nice looking pad... I'd take it..

AaronM 10-24-2007 07:04 PM

One would think he could afford more/better furniture.

As for those of you saying the price is too cheap for SoCal.....Obviously you have not been paying attention to the real estate market.

Xrated J 10-24-2007 07:09 PM

dosent really look like marilyn manson decor

Vitasoy 10-24-2007 07:19 PM

Awesome looking place, love the outdoors more then anything

Drake 10-24-2007 07:30 PM

That does seem awfully cheap for a house like that

GreyWolf 10-24-2007 07:42 PM

Yet another gated faked Mediterranean "estate" on half an acre?? Since when did an estate ever fit on a half acre??? :1orglaugh

It's still a nice home tho somehow can't see that fitting onto half an acre - the pics are obviously w/angle and reality may be different.

Dunno about price - it's relative. Same thing in a more exotic location would sell for higher, but - could also have a much bigger plot and construct, and it would sure not cost a $1mill tho the market price may be $2mill ish. Anyways, it will appeal to someone in the CA market - maybe because of a celeb owner or because it's called an "estate" :winkwink:

GrouchyAdmin 10-24-2007 07:44 PM

That house is also 70 years old.

AmeliaG 10-24-2007 07:44 PM

He paid $1,270,000 for it and it is assessed at $1,321,307, so the asking price does seem a bit low, but Cali real estate, especially on the higher end, appears to be somewhat in free fall at the moment.

(a) If someone is going to conform, they might as well conform to being a normal person. Then the excuse would at least seem less silly.

(b) I think a person should own who they are and what they do or change if they can't stand behind their own behavior.

pornask 10-24-2007 08:02 PM

Goddamn steal. You would buy less than half of that house in Alberta for this money.

Fap 10-24-2007 08:06 PM

pretty cheap..

If this is the same house that was on there years ago, then the photos are definitely deceiving.

Look at the tiles in the kitchen floor. They range about 1/3 to 1/2 larger on the edges of the photo.

those are 12x12 tiles, the kitchen really isnt that big if you count them.

evildick 10-24-2007 08:37 PM

It's a nice house either way. Around here it would probably only be worth 350,000 though. Maybe a tad bit more because of the landscaping.

Yep... depends where it is.

In the UK... hard to say, but around $3-4mill plus. The irony is if you were buying that home in UK currency it's not that much - around 500K GBP, and 500K GBP homes in the UK are ten a penny.

Much prefer a more exotic location with views and larger plot area - a half acre is nothing. The minimum we sell here for that type of home is 53,800 sq ft (half a hectare) tho could go to a hectare at 107,000 sq ft - the lot size of that home is only 23,900 sq ft.

bobby666 10-24-2007 10:18 PM

no not really

tiger 10-25-2007 01:24 AM

1.1 million is damn cheap for a house like that here.

flashfire 10-25-2007 01:37 AM

seems like a good deal to me

Pornwolf 10-25-2007 01:50 AM

Marilyn Manson is one of the coolest, smartest musicians I know. Don't let the act fool you.

i like it all except the kitchen...too old looking... white wood... jesus

need some marble and drop lights..get some moen or some good shit

Mutt 10-25-2007 02:19 AM

damn that is a nice house to pick up in Los Angeles for just over a mil. i like that it's built in 1937, it has an old L.A. feel to it like in the movie Chinatown with Jack Nicholson. Chatsworth is the porno capital area - so maybe that's part of the reason it's not a 3 mil house - and yeah the housing market has gone to shit but that makes it a great time to buy if you are doing ok.

4500 sq feet - not an estate, good sized family home though.
