Adwords - WTF?
Anyone else ever have an issue where you pause an add campaign and then out of the blue a few months latter you get an email along the lines of "you should increase your ad budget by x amount of cash because you have used your maximum per day for the past 15 days?
So then I log in and discover it appears my ads had to have gotten turned back on about 3 months ago that had been paused way back then. So needless to say it has been using its max for the past 100 days or so and there is a good sized bill sitting there. First why the email now when I apparently had been using the max for way longer than 15 days. Most importantly why and how in the fuck do these ads get turned on again? |
I have heard from a few affiliates that are having this problem as well as having their ads showing up on 'content match' when they specifically set them to not show as 'content match'
|
G**gle is ripping you off :pimp

First time I have gotten plugged in the ass over a seasonal ad. |

Google learned how to have these 'accidents' from AdBrite.

You should have bought GOOG stock :)

WTF! IS RIGHT!!
I just looked at my adword account that I haven't used in months, and it shows 9000 ad impressions today?? I have no funds in the account, and haven't turned anything on or touched anything in months. Is google's auditing software that fucked up? it shows 1 click on 9000 impressions today, which is fucked up in itself. |
something is not right there thats for sure
|
weird, I have never had that happen before
|
they charged me a bunch of hits "keywords" I didn't pay for. and credited me later ... you have to monitor your shit daily :) even though thats impossible sometimes..

keep us posted in this thread on what they say
makes you wonder how the company that runs the whole internet can do that right when this kind of strange stuff happens, I always thought the whole adwords system is really clunky and the interfaces for adwords and adsense seem a little patchy |
It never happened to me, but I have heard a couple other people complaining. It sucks, anyways.
|
Return email - Sorry for the inconvenience...yes we see that you paused ad XXXXX on June 23rd....blah blah.. then you turned it back on a few minutes latter.
blah blah blah hope to do more business with you... blah blah blah oh here is how you pause an ad... no shit really? |

Adsense stats have been fucked for a few days as well. Not showing channel data for some reason.
|
I got the same problem, i thought maybe my campaign was still running
$ 150 gone i guess ? |
To be honest if you're retarded enough not to monitor your adwords account for weeks or months at a time you almost deserve to get fucked over.

Sorry to hear that happened to you. I haven't seen anything like that before with my account.
I do track my adwords account in stats remote so I would catch an increased spend like that. If you use stats remote be sure to add it so you can watch it on a regular basis. |

I will bug them about it until they either credit my account or show me how I somehow turned it back on by turning it off and loging out. |

You can find all supported programs here: http://www.statsremote.com/programs.php One of the reasons StatsRemote was developed was to track the stats of ppcse. Back in 2001 I was spending $50K+ on ppcse traffic per month and it was crucial to monitor the traffic. BTW it happened to me several times already that a paused campaign in AdWords was somhow reactivated automatically and it also happened that our ads were shown on content match eventhough we had unchecked that option. We also had problems with other settings (language, regions, etc.) in the past but AFAIK none of these errors happened recently anymore. The last time I remember was last year. |

I will really think of picking up stats remote before I play with any more PPC. |

As for the error you got... I just checked and everything looks fine from here. Do you still get the error? |

Ok guess I will check this out sooner than expected. Suppose I can plug in my own sites for now and see how it runs. |
