Stiffy Cash's .GIF image with dithering sucks.
This is what you get when you save a .GIF with dithering:
http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/images/stiffytop.gif I know, it sucks. Adobe will do this even if you have less than 256 colors in the image... it dithers anyway... why? I have no idea. But you gotta turn dithering off so those jaggies dont happen.... there's a tip for everyone. |
never noticed that in Photoshop.
how do you know whoever made the banner didn't just leave 'antialiasing' turned off? |
I hope that this thread offended NO ONE. It was not meant to offend anyone's abilities at making banners. The problem with the banner is a flaw in adobe.
They did not just leave AA off, since even AA makes a flat edge flat... these edges are not flat, they are jagged - it is a direct result of dithering - even though dithering is not needed if you have less than 256 colors, it does so anyway. This post was meant for a tip for improving banner design - and not meant to cause any harm. Cheers, |
