Happy Sweetest Day?

Someone just wished me a happy Sweetest Day, I had to Google it to realize it was real.

How many of you observe it, and where do you live?

TurboAngel 10-20-2007 04:35 PM

Awwww are you wishing us all a Happy Sweetest Day?

;)

It would not have a ? at the end if I were.

I hadn't heard about it until just now, and read the wikipedia entry

(since one wasn't provided - for the uninformed: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sweetest_Day )

Gives me an excuse to go grab some cotton candy, though... I've been craving some for a few days now... must need sugar.

sweetest day is such a load of crap.

Only a small sector.

I got into *huge* trouble with my wife a few months after I first dating her - she lived in the Midwest and I lived on the East Coast, and I didn't send her flowers for Sweetest Day. I had never heard of it in my life, and she didn't believe me. Another friend from the Midwest convinced me it was "real" out there...but she didn't completely believe me until she was visiting me back East the next October. I took her to several drugstores so she could see there were cards for Halloween, Yom Kippur, Boss's Day, Grandparents' Day ---- but not one for Sweetest Day.

Now we live on the west coast where there's not a single Sweetest Day card either - and we laugh about it. Today I got her a "Happy Boss's Day" card, crossed out "Boss" and wrote in "Sweetest" instead. :1orglaugh

Sweetest Day? WTF? I have enough days to keep track of...

fatfoo 10-20-2007 10:08 PM

what the fuck? first time i hear of it

MikeSmoke 10-20-2007 10:08 PM

The worst part about it is the timing...I get socked just about every month now...five out of seven months....lol
August - our anniversary
October - sweetest day
November - her b'day
December - Xmas/Chanukah
February - Valentine's Day
