Am I the only one bothered by the "married but looking" dating sites?

I heard a radio ad for ashleymadison.com on sirius, and man, it made me sick. I mean look, if someone cheats or not is their business, but as someone who knows about it a bit, I actually got sick to my stomach hearing it advertised like it was a good thing.

One woman says "I'm taking off the halo and doing this for me" like she is empowering herself! C'mon, your cheating bitch!

I don't know, I don't think I could run a site targeted at that demographic, and those of you who know me, know I'm nobody to talk about cheating. It just seems wrong to encourage it and advertise it like that.

Am I way off here?

Mutt 10-19-2007 09:25 PM

monogamous relationships are dead - the Internet and all the other technology in our lives just opens everybody up to too many intimate relationship possibilities. i don't think anybody can be trusted these days - male or female. i'm sure there are some who don't or wouldn't cheat but I think those numbers are declining bigtime.

You can't fuck with human nature.

Spunky 10-19-2007 09:27 PM

Typical women..never satisfied

After Shock Media 10-19-2007 09:31 PM

If your going to cheat fucking cut it off before hand and stop keeping a damn backup plan if that backup is so damn bad for you.

Personally I am pretty damn secure with my relationship.

As for the site itself I must say it has been morals and character that have kept me from being rich in this industry.

RayVega 10-19-2007 09:33 PM

I hear what you are saying about human nature and all...but for example, if you promote drug use aren't you partially responsible? Same with cheating. I don't know.

And let me tell you. I am married with three kids. I've cheated a number of times, and my wife has cheated also. We are honest about it, and accept it as human nature, but there's something about promoting it that bothers me.

I know it sounds hypocritical, but I couldn't feel responsible for promoting it. not everyone is like my wife and I.

we're in the biblical day of "the land of the kings"

everyone wants to be a king or queen...& that means fucking who they want, eating what they want, doing what they want

people realize that with proper condom use...a nut can be busted while on a business trip without fucking up a relationship

much like rome in its last days...so enjoy the downhill ride brother!

Pornwolf 10-19-2007 10:02 PM

You are right Ray. It's become easy to see that things have gone too far when people started promoting infidelity to women as something cool to do.

We are only witnessing the beginning of a slide down a very slippery slope.

1 in 100?

I think the ratio is probably more like 1 in 5,000. :2 cents:

tony286 10-19-2007 10:20 PM

its a bit much but if there is a buck to be made someone will be doing it.

Rochard 10-19-2007 11:47 PM

I have somewhat of a problem with this. I'm married and faithful to my wife; I'm not here to get laid and I've seen enough tits to last me a lifetime.

However, people are going to cheat no matter what and I'm sure they are already using dating sites to do it - so why not jump on the bandwagon.

baddog 10-19-2007 11:53 PM

I must be high.

If there was a mental telepathy toll done. Or a massive lie detector test.

I would say about 20% of men are actually totally faithful to their wife in their lifetime.

I would say 45% of men have only fucked up once. And the other 25% are repeat offenders. Then i would say 10% are raging homosexual sex addicts, who fuck men, end up in mens bathrooms tapping their feet, or bath houses during their "late nite" business meetings.

What i don't understand is why can't people keep mental attachments & psychical attachments separate? Just set some ground rules up front.

Ok you can sleep with 1 woman a year. 1 time. That might very well be enough to get it out of their system & feel like real (wild/young) man again.

I've never met a married man in my life that hasn't looked at a hot woman (at least out of the corner of their eye). That means biologically we are not monogamous. So why pretend? Men want to impregnate as many women as possible, if this were untrue, our divorce rate wouldn't be 75%.

If you ask me, marriage is stupid in the first place. It's a LEGAL CONTRACT saying i have to love you forever, or you get half my shit. What a stupid fucking outdated piece of shit.

Most marriages happen because a woman is getting into her late 20's & realizes she's about to lose much of her sex appeal & end up alone, making 75-cents on the dollar, with 20 cats in her house. So she forces a man into a situation he doesn't actually & truly want. I would put that in the 75% of all marriage range. Another 10% for pregnancy for a couple who don't believe in abortion, or a woman who doesn't believe in abortion.

Then theres a whole 5% of people who really do just really LOVE, DIG, & GET each other so much, they couldn't possibly imagine spending a single day apart from each other for the rest of their lives.

VIVA CHEATING!

pr0 10-20-2007 12:41 AM

And if you don't believe me on the 5% rate....name one couple you know that you haven't seen get "into a heated argument" more than once.

If those 2 people really were soul mates they wouldn't ever have a disagreement.

Argue all you want, but what i say makes logical sense. I have some non-sexual friends i consider soul mates of mine, I have NEVER ONCE had an argument with.

How many married couples can say that?

So lets just make it seem like its a good thing to do so we can make a buck. Funny how you republicans are all for family values until it comes to money.

baddog 10-20-2007 12:54 AM

If you haven't purchased a bag of lime and come up with an alibi, you have never been in love.

Depends what your definition of a soulmate is. The most intense connections we have with people can and usually does end up in pain.

minusonebit 10-20-2007 01:07 AM

Meh, I don't care to much. People who get into relationships just seem to try and see how bad they can fuck the other party over anyway. If it wasn't the dating site sin, it would be something else. People are animals and are gonna do what they are gonna do, may as well make a few bucks while allowing them to do so.
