I have switched teams!

After being a Windows user forever and getting sick of how shitty the OS is..

I have made the switch to Mac!

First I turned one of my desktops into Ubuntu which I still have around

THEN

I picked up a Mac G5 desktop and will have a 17" Powerbook G4 soon so....

The only Windows machine left is my Dell laptop. All I will use it for is to check stats with Stats Remote and to submit galleries.

I'd love this change more if there were 3 things...

1) Stats Remote or Unified Stats for Mac

2) Submission program for mac.

3) Homesite for mac.

Welcome to the Team! Pre-order Leopard yet?
Use Bootcamp w/ XP for those 3 programs you don't have on Mac.

They do but I want native programs... I don't want to switch OS's and run a program to run a program shit.

GrouchyAdmin 10-19-2007 09:19 PM

Parallels is pretty good.

Iron Fist 10-19-2007 09:21 PM

Good luck not trying to right click :)

Does Bootcamp work with the non Intel Mac machines?

This is a Power mac G5 and my laptop is a Powerbook G4 which are both non intel based.

No, unfortunately it doesn't, but, I believe there are some programs that run in OS X that do.

Why? I'm using a Logitech mouse with the logitech mac mouse software. It works the same as my windows mouse.

Okay then phew! Though you were going to go all Apple fanboi on me there - with the one button mouse and elitist attitude ;)

Shaze 10-19-2007 09:29 PM

I'm still running Windows 2000 Professional on two of my desktops :disgust

Won't take long anymore. Email us and we'll put you on the list for beta :)

candyflip 10-19-2007 09:50 PM

The Chameleon Submitter programs and Stats Remote all run under Parallels and VMWare's Fusion. This is the same for just about anything else you'd need to run on Windows.

Homesite has worked it's way into Dreamweaver, so to speak. So you're covered there as well.

If you want to check out something different in the way of a code editor, check out Coda.

I don't want to run under Parallels or VMWare.

I'd rather use winblowz on my XP laptop for a program or two then to integrate XP or Vista on my Mac laptop or desktop.

I'm not as dumb as I look all the time :winkwink:

I need the buttons and options that a logitech mouse provides and supports under OS X

no offense dumb ass, but mac has had multi-button mouses for quite some time now. Stating the no right-click just emphasises your ignorance about computers.

peterk 10-20-2007 02:18 AM

I have to try a mac someday too

pussyluver 10-20-2007 04:51 AM

Most conversions come from a PC using IE. That could have something to do with over 90% of the users using PCs. Of that most are using IE over Firefox and the rest of the browsers. So it seems logical to work and develop in the native environment your customers are using. Then test for function in the others. Web pages look different on different browsers and platforms.

Macs have their purpose. They are best suited for the print media. Photo and film editing are other examples where MACs have some advantage. If you think Macs don't break, give it awhile.

I have a sponsor or two that develop using Macs. That would explain why they put out tours with links that don't work sometimes or have other errors.

In the end, the use of a particular platform depends on your use or need.

bullshit, its how they do it, not what they use to do it... code doesn't just magicly change because of what you're working ON...

AsianDivaGirlsWebDude 10-20-2007 01:28 PM

Once you go Mac, you never go back... :thumbsup
