REAL Absinthe... not the crap you get in the USA or here ... the European stuff with the shit still floating around in 90% alcohol.

Polish Blue as a close 2nd. Polish grain pure spirit - you can almost watch the shit evaporate when you take the lid off.

Agreed with the OP. I tried 190 proof (when it was still available for sale in the midwest) once, just to test it out.

The only thing I can think of to describe it is "Gasoline and razor blades."

One night, I had a toothache the likes of which inspires epic poetry... it kept waking me up every 15 minutes - I couldn't get to sleep... and the dental appointment was still 2 days away.

So, I said, "fuck it", and tossed back 3 shots of 190 proof everclear that I had bought down in Mexico to use for spot-sanitation in regards to my brewing hobby.

With every shot, it was like all the water in the cells of my cheeks and tongue suddently left the cells.... leaving my mouth all puckered up. I'd wait a minute for my mouth to unpucker, and do it again.

After the 3rd shot, I settled down in bed. Don't remember much after that.

Vodka's always been my least favourite to drink straight. Hell, even mixed with soda or whatever else it still tastes awful.

i once took an absinthe shot, 70%... its not made for straight shots you alwasy gotta mix it with water and sugar... but i thought what the fuck and felt it :Oh crap
also mezcal is very hard to drink straight up because of the fucked up taste

TUACA... it will fuck you up big time. I am not a big fan of black licorice so TUACA, UZO, etc etc... hate them all.

Tequilla is the worst...sorry. Got sick on it a long time ago and can't stand even smelling it.

I guess it kind of depends on which liquor you got the sickest off of in the past .. personally I used to love Tequila .. but then one fateful day .. too much too fast and now i can't even stomach the smell of it .. sucks cause i totally remember loving it ..

Somehow, in all of my drinking, Ive never drank Everclear. Maybe at a college party in "Jungle Juice", but definitely never straight up.

Now that I read this post again, I'm guessing you were meaning "Sambuca," as it's an Italian licorice-flavored liqueur (properly served in a snifter with 3 roasted coffee beans in garnish), as opposed to "Tuaca" which, as I mentioned, is an Italian vanilla/citrus flavored liqueur, and not licorice-flavored at all.

i don't mind jaeger at all! i actually prefer it. i'm not much of a drinker, though. i don't know if it was just a bad night for me or what, but blackhaus (sp?) is the worst for me. tasted like nail polish remover smells. and i felt it going all the way down to my stomach. it felt like it took an hour! BLEAH! :)

In Japan I had Absinth. I got hold of some polish Blue about 15 years ago at a party, either will grow hair on your ass. When bartending, I tried Green Chartreuse, in the Navy I had moon shine, that was pleasant in comparison

I must have had a bad day when I tried the Chartruse, we were mixing up green lizards, Chartreuse and 151 rum

when i was a kid i trekked thru europe and ended up spending the winter in a camp in Israel. we had no money but the camp would give us food stamps which we could use to buy israeli domestic beer and booze. we would get hammered every night wo fail. the booze they sold was bad, it was the absinth type stuff and tasted absolute undrinkable, we would pour up half a glass, then lay a thin cloth on top and fill the glass with beer which would then stay on top floating on top of the shitty booze, when you drank it in one shot, you never tasted the booze only the beer. we were so hammered....and that shit kind made you weired too..
