It's funny, Roger Clemens said one reason he HAD to make a comeback was he couldn't relax at home knowing how much a week he wasn't going to make if he turned down the 24 million offer. Set his kids for life with just half a season.

I think he said no because Steinbrenner was talking shit about how he was going to get rid of him if they lost. Well they lost and they give him a contract extension. That contradicts what Steinbrenner first said. I Love the Yankess but fuck Steinbrenner.

I doubt this decision had anything to do with money. My guess is that he was just tired of dealing with crazy ass Steinbrenner. I know I couldn't work for that guy very long.

Hell ya, what kind of shity ass coach makes it to the postseason 12 years in a row with 4 World Series titles and a few more ALCS titles? Torre has been nothing but dissapointing since he got to New York, good thing he's gone.

Alright, now that sarcasm time is over, back to reality. How many teams would kill to make the postseason every year? This is why the Yankees are the most passionatly hated team in all of sports.

I would not be surprised if you see the Yankee's come back and make another offer to Joe. He just made it clear in his interview why he didn't accept the offer. I think you will start to see players leaning on the management.

I personally think what Torre accomplished in 12 years was amazing. Dealing with all the BS in NY and being able to keep teams focused. I would have given him 3 years packed with loot and incentives to boot. Plus given him the reigns and understanding that I will not fuck with him during the season.

Right now Yankee management is making a mistake. In the end it will hurt them more than they know.

I will expect either the Yankee's to see the error in their ways and come back to Joe with a bigger better offer, or move on quickly to Donnie Baseball. He is probably the only guy they can hire right now to save from losing too many players to FA.
