Server has been hacked and recovered
Hello everyone,
Its been a horrible week for me,my server has been hacked and i have spent a few days recovering everything. They have managed to find exploits in two old php scripts, uploaded those c99 and r57shell scripts and then it was a matter of a few simple mysql commands to delete databases and 777 directories. My false,i have learned the lesson and fortunally recovered everything. Thanks a lot to Phatservers.com where i am hosted for more than two years now. I dont know what would happen if there was no PH and their great maanged service and backup system which backed up everything from databases and website data to all server config files. While i was recovering i have opened about 40 tickets with all FTP,DB,admin cp etc password change requests, security tweak for my custom needs and so on... They have gone far beyond the scope of their support to recover everything exactly as i needed and even edited the database to contain info from various days. Thanks to techs Chris,Mike and Keith. I could have lost my business without excellent service :thumbsup |
thats called customer support.....:)

Yeah i had a similar thing with my website, they hacked in through a very weak topsite srcript, and it is a pain in the ass, but it taught me a good lesson not to use free crappy scripts...glad you got it sorted
