Brandable foreign TLD domains? Any success stories here?

Has anyone tried using foreign TLD extentions to complete words as brandable domains? If so, what success or disappointment have you encountered?

Ex: goo.se, fuck.er, pho.ne etc...

Just curious.

LOL, I know that one. This is about anyone on here that's done it.

It's a clusterfuck from the SEO perspective, since country specific domains tend to rank very well in the country specific google index, but worse than a non-foreign TLD in the main index.

So, targetting a swedish audience with goo.se would be great, if you target US surfers it may still be nice to brand and easy to remember, but always has this disadvantage in the search engines.

Good point. I wonder if massive linkbacks would counter the foreign handicap? (Referencing del.icio.us)
