All who have been looking for me, I've been in a car crash.........I'm ok and alive

Heya.

Last monday I've been in a car crash when driving home after a job in a
datacenter. I hadn't been sleeping for over 48 hours and didn't have time to
eat on monday....so at night after I was done I drove home, fell asleep behind
the wheel got of the road and slammed into a tree. I wasn't wearing a seatbelt,
slammed with my chest on the steering wheel and my head smashed a hole in
the windshield.....

Damage, totalled the car, concussion, some cuts and bruises, lost my cellphone
and severely damaged my ego.

I got released from the hospital today and I'm ok....I still feel
like I just had sex with a 10 ton truck and have some headaches but I'll be
ok.........pics will follow as soon as I get them......

I'll get back to everyone who was trying to contact me......thanks for your
concern......:thumbsup

Rowdy 10-17-2007 08:51 AM

Hope you heal up soon from it all .. it could have been a lot worse!

MikeVega 10-17-2007 08:52 AM

That sucks .. they say driving tired is just as bad as drunk. glad to hear your ok ..

baddog 10-17-2007 08:52 AM

Two questions:

1. How do you know what sex with a 10 ton truck is like?

2. Same car you picked me up in, or the other (hope the first).

Glad you are okay.

GAMEFINEST 10-17-2007 09:05 AM

Take it ezz for a while

1: I've been a pro motorcross rider in my younger years....and got my carreer
ended by a very bad accident which resulted in 1.5 years hospital and rehabillitation.
Through the years have broken almost every bone in my body
at least twice......so I have a pretty good idea what hitting a truck feels like :winkwink:

2: Yup it was the scrapheap mobile else I probably only had a paint scratch
Hit the tree not full on but on the passenger side which caused the car to
flip around 180 degrees which absorbed a lot of the impact.

Since I didn't see the crash coming my hand was still on the wheel which had
I seen it coming I would have let go of the wheel as I know that's the
smartest thing todo. I didn't black out or if I did only a few seconds I was
able to get out of the car before people from stopped vehicles were near
my car......I sat down, counted fingers, limbs and checked if I could move
everything.....then laid down waiting for the ambulance to take me to the
hospital.

I smashed my head into the windshield which broke the glas but I didn't go
straight through it.....so other than a concussion some small cuts on my
hands from flying glass and a broken thumb from the spinning steering wheel
I'm ok......took xrays from head, neck and hand but all was ok except for
the thumb which was quite obvious as it was pointing in a direction it normally
shouldn't. They reset that which b.t.w. isn't very pleasant when they do that
and supported it with a plastic cover that slid over my thumb and taped it
up.

I vommited the at first which is why they kept me for 2 days for observation
this morning after a last checkup and response test I was released from the
hospital.....:thumbsup

Damn man. sorry to hear. Hope everything works out ok with the car and all., That will most likely end up being a new set of headaches.

At least you walked away.

PS. Where are you from?? No Offense, but in the way that you type to express yourself, you sound like someone else I know. He is from Denmark.

baddog 10-17-2007 09:19 AM

Well, glad you are okay, but if we are going to do any biz you are going to have to keep yourself alive. ;)

eroswebmaster 10-17-2007 09:19 AM

sounds harsh man...hope your recovery is quick.

Hi, I'm Dutch relatively close to Denmark......Dannish is just even more fucked
up than Dutch to speak.....I guess most EU folks speak TV english.....that must
be the resemblance.. :thumbsup

MetaMan 10-17-2007 09:33 AM

You are a fucking idiot, good job at putting everyones life in danger :thumbsup

you dont sleep you 48 hours and then hop behind the wheel of a car? you may as well of done some mushrooms and gone for a joyride.

Please dont miss understand, and I meant no offense. your English is great. Its just that I caught something in the way you worded one of the sentences, and it was just like my friend.

Hope you feel better soon.

I am still alive.....never had a car crash on the road before......and I'm sure
I won't let this happen again.....it was combi of sleep deprivation, no food
which made me feel cold....especially after just have worked for 3 hours on
a very cold datacenter floor. I was hungry and thirsty as the airco's dehydrate
you fast....the canteen soda machine was sold out which led to the far from
ideal situation to step into my car and drive home. I had the car heating on
steamy hot as I had chils running down my spine.....and that's the perfect
ingredient for dissaster as I've learned......

I never wear a seatbelt which I know is stupid.....but just one of those things
you do till something happens....so I'll now probably wear it for a few months
till I've forgotten about it and fall back to being stupid.....:winkwink:

I wasn't speeding at all or driving reckless....I was driving an old shabby
banger which isn't the ideal vehicle to drive when testing trees....but all in
all I wasn't in a life dangerous situation at any time....I could have broken
a few more bones at most....the speed wasn't high enough to get me
very serious injured or even killed........my ego hurts most at the moment
being someone who has been racing bikes and cars since the age of 3 this
is something I was always convinced would never happen to me......lesson
learnt....note to self....when tired let someone else drive me home....:thumbsup

FredIsMe 10-17-2007 09:41 AM

Another Kanye West incident.

Danny B 10-17-2007 09:42 AM

Glad you're ok man. get well soon.

yup it certainly wasn't the smartest thing todo....I didn't drink, smoke, snorted,
injected anything into my body though.....it's a 15 mile drive from where I was
to my house which I drive everyday, it's back road with hardly any traffic
but yeah it could have ended worse.......luckily it didn't......

If I were you I'd be cautious with pointing the finger at the stupidity of others
that's quite often the best way of getting your ass in a similar situation so
others can laugh back at you.....been there, done that, got the shirt

It's easy to get mad at the mistakes of others.....but the fact is every now
and then we all make a mistake or do something stupid.......easy to say
afterwards.....djeez that's stupid.......better watch out you don't do it
yourself....coz though you're right....you won't be able to convince me that
you never have done something wrong or stupid which could have led to
something worse than it did.......

I'm a very experienced driver, never had ANY accidents over the 17 years
that I have my drivers license and I drive well over 50K miles a year.....I know
that doesn't make this mistake right......but it does show I don't have a habit
of unsafe driving..........

I know you only tried to add some insult to injury which had you known me
a little better you would have known not to work.....but nevertheless good
attempt sport......keep trying one day you might pull it off :1orglaugh

No offense taken....I know my english is quite ok considering it's not my first
language and I speak another 4 languages equally well......I know it's not
perfect but even my dutch isn't perfect.....and it's enough to get my point
across...thanks for your well wishes....I appreciate that :thumbsup

You have to agree with this... truly reckless.

I look much better than Kanye West, I also don't cry and bitch anywhere near
as much as Kanye West.....so please don't insult me by comparing me with Kanye......thanks :winkwink:

reckless I'd call it when I did it intentionally being fully aware I was in no state
to drive........When I stepped in I didn't feel that I wasn't able to drive....I was
wrong and looking back it wasn't smart to do.......so yes it was stupid but I
certainly didn't deliberately try to put myself and others in danger......

It was a good lesson and I'm sure I won't step behind the wheel in a similar
situation again....but as I said I didn't feel to beat up when I got into the
car....and still decided to go for out....I've been tired before while driving
and more than once I decided to park the car and take a nap instead of
continuing my journey......I fully know the dangers....but still got caught
by suprise........I don't feel bad or feel guilty for taking a wrong decision as
I know I didn't have any doubts about when I stepped into my car and drove
off.....

:2 cents:

TurboAngel 10-17-2007 10:09 AM

Glad you're ok.

ServerGenius 10-17-2007 10:16 AM

Thanks for the well wishes everybody I'm gonna leave it with that. I don't feel
the need to further discuss this in detail...I just wanted to inform a bunch of
people with what happened and let everyone known I'm ok and will survive...
no other people have been hurt in the accident and I got told even the tree
will make a full recovery......thanks everyone and for the haters...sorry to inform
you I'll stick around for another while :thumbsup

DaddyHalbucks 10-17-2007 10:32 AM

Glad you survived, get well soon.

i am not trying to add anything, if i did the same thing i would expect you to call me an idiot, the post is truth not some "it can never happen to me" thing.

Wear your damn seatbelt!

CurrentlySober 10-17-2007 10:46 AM

Get well soon dude.
I fell asleep driving a car myself once...
I was driving from palm springs to phoenix, it was a long straight road, very hot, and I just nodded off... Skidded off the road and got hurt...
Its easily done :)

What was funny was the two guys who witnessed it and stopped to help me...
The first guy was in a car alongside me as I left the road, and he seemed so concerned for my welfare, you would have been mistaken for thinking he was direct family to me...
The other guy, driving a truck behind me, was like...
Dude! Awesome ! You should have seen it from back there... Wish Id had a video camera... :) :LOL

Yup thing that puzzled me the most......I clearly remember "seeing" the road
and white lines in front of me when I hit the tree......I wasn't totally gone
that's the first I thought about.....like WTF I was driving on the road 1 second
ago......obviously I wasn't, it happened in a slight bend.....I didn't follow the
bend just went straight ahead of on the grass and in to the tree.....it was
a small back road with LOTS of trees next to it within 2 meters from the
road itself, after the tree a levy and then a bigass river.....I'm glad I met the
tree else I'd have made a spectacular jump into the river......I would have
survived that too, I've been in the water inside a car several times on a
training....in a swimming pool and because of my racing background I don't
panic when I crash......but the water would have been quite cold....and me
no like cold.........besides my laptop got out undamaged.....that would have
been different if I'd gone into the water :1orglaugh

ok......and as I already said...I agree it wasn't a smart move.....the only thing
I'm saying I don't have a habit of doing stupid things in traffic.....I'm very aware
of the dangers and I'm usually very carefull when attending traffic....even more
cautious than most others on the road.....but it shows that that doesn't mean
that you can ever be cautious enough or excempt from getting into accidents.
I have to admit that I sometimes think I won't because of being cautious.....

I used to have long hair and used my hair for similar things.....though mostly
when being on a heavy drinking binge......but today my head is as bald
as a baby's ass......I smoke rolling tobacco....so these days I use that as a
reference method.....as long as I'm still able to roll a ciggy....I'm ok....when
I can't roll a ciggy anymore that means.....time to try to manage getting myself
into bed. :1orglaugh

p.s. I did manage to roll a ciggy right before I left......:winkwink:
