I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Alot of people really dig Munch. Art isn't always about realism, sometimes it's about portraying an emotion / conveying a feeling / thought / idea

Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's not art. A lot of people think Road House with Patrick Swayze is crap, but to me its art.

I was half expecting the same thing...I'm not a huge fan of 99.9% of modern art..and I expected to see some guy's homeowork titled..."study in pencil."

Art is a guy with no arms and legs that hangs on the wall.

There is some serious talent / and money in velvet paintings...they are all done by hand and some of the original masters' paintings are worth quite a bit.

I was watching a documentary about this around 7 years ago, now most of the "masters" have studios where they teach a bunch of students how to paint in their style and that's how they mass produce these things now.

It's refreshing that you don't like it.

I love Munch. What may be art to you may look like crap to me.

I'm not a huge fan of art either. Most of seems like random colors thrown onto a canvas and then sold for thousands of dollars because of some kind of bullshit story behind why it was painted. Most "artists" I've met were pretentious pieces of shit that looked down on everyone but the people in there fold.
