Who's buying traffic on these TUBE sites?
All I see is Adult Dating sites... how are these tube sites making any money?
The traffic ranking is enourmous on Alexa, the advertising rates are HUGE from Etology up to $3600 a DAY on youporn.com for a banner. How are these sites making any money? I have heard server/bandwidth costs upwards of $100,000 a month for the largest tube sites. AFF and a few other dating sites can't be paying all the bills, I've heard they are ALL not profitable. Will they last? |
Hosting companies are getting rich though....

I REALLY REALLY don't understand these adult companies that are running tube sites. Giving away shit loads of large movie files, so that no one wants to buy porn, and at the end of the day, they're not making money on the tube sites to begin with. They got the huge amounts of traffic that they wanted, but they're losing money, and fucking up the paysites that they count on to be profitable. Talk about being sadistic. |
Free for all movie sites are not profitable.

I was actually asking myself the same question this morning... How the hell to they survive? Some have embeded flash video that allows them to the link the referal code but for the rest of them i'm really confuse. If you really take the time to surf some of these sites you will realize that they don't have a lot of content. Probably because of the cost of the bandwith....

$100,000 a month is about 4 terrabyte (2000 mbps) at $25mbps
perhaps some are paying $30 but i doubt it's much more than that, as I am sure even prime backbone pipe would flexuate at that bulk. if you ever did a advertising campaign for a fortune 500 company, you realize the results come long term in regards to the financial gains.. spending 15 million now, for $5m/year of market share later.... in three years money is back and business is good.... this is what the VODs are trying today... they can take back the industry by offering everything, can care less what happens to industry, because they feel in 3 years the amount of people on their vod will be enough to survive... risky and pathetic business, but then again, porn masters not always the brightest bunch in the class.... As stated earlier... it will be death of industry..and by industry i mean affiliate industry.... some who i said this to before maybe took it as "porn industry" The sponsors are seeing now they have materials to give away and capture big percentage of market looking short term, not realizing the problems seen long turn which I have forseen which will lead to many companies you know today, being broken apart in the next 3 years.. and once this happens the affiliate base will not return, because there will be no money, and no support and greed takes ever, and hurting hurts more.. VOD value will decrease to $.05/m from the $1.94/m they charge now as you can alreadys ee they are changing from PPM to $9.95/m to $19.95 bulk memberships.... which is worse revenue than a paysite, so the affiliate base is gone, and as funds get tight and everyone gets their 5% of the tube market.. blam.. self destruct time |

I believe thats thats 100mbps, not too mention oversold pipe so good luck transferring your full amount there... since you need about 1500 more mbps to begin with

anyways - how many gige lines do you pay for a month? I have more than 1 its not gov backed - its a public company that was backed by cisco further info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cogent_Communications Cogent Communications is a multinational internet service provider whose network spans more than 23,000 miles and provides service in over 100 cities across 20 countries. Cogent carries more than nine petabytes per day of Internet traffic and connects to more than 2,000 networks, including 385 peer ASes. Cogent believes it has grown to become the second largest carrier of Internet traffic in the world. Cogent offers dedicated Internet service, colocation services, and Layer 2 point-to-point services in areas where it has its own last-mile network connections. Cogent has been controversial in the ISP market for its low, $10-per-megabit pricing and its public disputes over peering with AOL (2003), France Telecom (2006) and Level 3 (2005). In each instance, these other providers ultimately reconnected to Cogent. Cogent's AS174, has one of the highest-ranked connectivity degrees on the Internet.[1][2] I'm crashing now.. have a nice night, morning, or afternoon where ever you are :thumbsup |
Well, it's not like all the big programs are sticking their heads together and run some major lawsuits against all the illegal tube sites out there..
We, as affiliates, can't do shit... and we're not the one who're supposed to.. it's not our content they're stealing.. Maybe the program owners are already to fucking rich to care... |
