Secondly....do you hit the program owners up before hand & demand higher payouts & higher revshare rates right from the start? Or do you wait till you push a little traffic over there?

I personally wait till i hit 20 free joins, paid joins, doesn't matter, then i hit my rep up & demand a higher payout be set if they wish to continue receiving my traffic.

The way i see it, its now a traffic pushers paradise, with so many programs out today for each niche, no one owns the market anymore.

Whats your take on this issue? Please be sure to answer both questions!

Except VOD. I don't have much experience with that.

Also, on #8 I choose revshare.

1) Dating - Revshare - People with the intention to find a partner for life will spend quite a time looking around, writing, building virtual relations.

2) Adult Dating - PPS - The guys are up for a quick fuck and will switch to the next site if they aren't successful and get replies from fake promo profiles only.

3) VOD Porn - Revshare - It's built for revshare, casual porn users who don't want to go out and rent a DVD, very loyal customers.

4) Webcam Girls - Revshare - Using PPS for some sites, but revshare most of the time since I wouldn't want to miss those guys spending hundreds or even thousands a month. Whales are rare, but well make up for those only spending money once.

5) Typical hardcore paysite - Revshare and PPS - Totally depends on the sponsor and my experience with their retention. Definitely PPS if the members area sucks or rebills magically disappear to a large extend compared with other similar sites.

6) Single Girl Paysite - Revshare - Solo girl site members are often loyal fans looking for some kind of virtual girlfriend, they stay for a long time. Again, if it's just content of the girl, no extras, no webcam shows, no member interaction, I use PPS.

7) Pharmacutecals - Revshare, but not promoting them much

8) Typical porn video site - Revshare - Same as for hardcore paysite

I never hit up anyone beforehand, since I'm always busy and often quite a time passes till I start sending traffic after signup...so, I'm waiting till I see good results and have a better position to ask for more :winkwink:

I would definitely send some traffic first before asking for a higher payout, it's just tacky for somebody, even somebody as reliable as pr0 to demand something higher or a better % without even sending a join.

i totally forgot escorts....but i think i would go revshare, if you hook a few whales who order them weekly, or travel, i would imagine that could be some massive loot...btw my webcams.com acct, the AVERAGE user has spent over $100, on AVERAGE no shit, some are already up in the $400 area, after only 1 month

I haven't seen evidence of the "revshare is better" thing on pretty much every program I promote... I know there's exceptions everywhere, but for me the rule is PPS only unless the PPS amount is low or it's an exceptional site in it's niche.

For example, with cams, a lot of cam sponsors are paying $100+. For me to average that on revshare, my surfers have to AVERAGE spending of $500 each... I know there are people who will, but every time I promote revshare cam sites I end up with a whole lot of $6 signups that die out after a few days.

Paysites? I know these guys can afford to pay me the $30-40 with all the xsells, upsells and ex-member mailings... VERY FEW sponsors have made me close to $30 a sale with the rebills on trials. Hell very few manage to do that with full monthly signups. Again, exceptions apply but they are few.

VOD? I've tried a couple, I'm sorry but the 10 cent payments don't excite me and they have not added up. I'll take a VOD sponsor that pays per signup like Adult Rental any day.

I know people won't agree with me, all I have to go on is my own experiences over the last 4 years, and I stick to em.

great reply rob...& yup i agree VOD is a sticky situation no doubt & adult rental really does have that market cornered at the moment...well then of course you have AEBN....but i happen to love anything made/ran by platinum bucks : )

why pps on solo girl sites? don't these buyers stay for awhile? of course only if the sponsor updates their site(s) content regularly.

Also I'd like to add that for me, money now is worth more than money later. A few sponsors now are starting to show their value with the rebills, but to be honest I would have preferred the $30 per sale 6 months ago than $34-38 per sale this month.

I'll choose PPS over revshare for almost any program/site, unless the site is new, has amazing content and is an underpromote niche. The only exception to this is if the programs sites convert very well and im getting 70%.

PPS on ALL but a REALLY good cam site if you have targetted traffic. Id take revshare on that. I guess OVERALL though, for these companies to be in business REVSHARE has to be the way to go haha. ;)

Pro, your first question is flawed. I'll explain why:

Say you have 2 different Single Girl Sites with hot tours that convert off the hook.

Site A updates every day and the model is very interactive. This site I would go revshare.

Site B updates once a week and model is not so active and site also has upsells in the members area. This I go PPS. (or find another good revshare site to push)

As far as your second question. It would depend on what the sponsor was paying out default. Maybe he is already paying out 60 or 70%.

Would you ask for more if they were already paying out a high amount? I get the impression that no matter what they pay out you would want or at least ask for more.

So in answer to your question, I would have to see how it went and if the sales were coming in and the sponsor is paying out satisfactorily I wouldn't say a word before or after.

I'm a fan of revshare for anything I push much because I don't really like to push stuff my surfers won't be that into and revshare equals more dough for something they like.

Everyone says this, but it's not necessarily the case... There are a lot of other ways to make money on that traffic. One company once told me they set their affiliate payouts at break-even just so they could profit from selling their exits to another company. By increasing the payouts as much as they could, that attracts more affiliates and makes the exit more valuable as a flat rate sale.
