I kept losing socks when going to laundry mats and I had found the explanation in one of "Duckman's" episodes... It turned out to be the MIB... or ninjas they all squeak when they walk it kind of hard to tell them apart... ^^

I really think perhaps your stolen wallet conspiracy is similar, not that I believe in such silly things...
