Upgrading all my shit.
Well 6 months have gone by and its time to get new shit. I have decided on the Nikon D300 where the new live view feature allows you to focus in real time on and HDMI display before snapping your pic. (I have used the D80 for the past 6 months). You can also take pics through the 2.5 LCD on the camera. This was enough for me to upgrade it will save me level adjustments later and my clients will be happier with the 12.1 megapixel. I just ordered the HVX 200 panasonic's DVC pro version of HD. ( I was using the Canon XH A1) This codec is suppose to blow HDV out of the water and be closer to uncompressed HD quality. The Canon XH A1 was a good camera but fell apart in low light and was hard to focus like its little brother the XL1s. Have you guy had experience with this gear? I look fwd to providing all of my clients with better content this will really put me at the top of my game. I sold the Canon in 1 day on craigslist here in Houston, I still. have the D80 (with a 70-200 3.5 DX) & a (24-135 VR lens) for $1000 thats a steal Im sure I will sell it locally but if someone is interested just ICQ me.
