Anyone know what is up with Lelahosting?

I have quite a few sites hosted one on of their servers which has been inaccessible/offline since around 4 pm yesterday. The whole support system at the site was down when I tried using it. Now it seems the main website is down also. I have tried email but have not gotten any type of response. I searched for various ways of contacting someone at the company to no avail. The whois info lists a disconnected phone number. I found another number that is supposed to be for sales but it goes to a voicemail for a "Jason." I've searched various forums a few icq numbers for reps but have not gotten any response whatsoever. If anyone has any info please help. I have lost alot of traffic due to this. It is now 27 hrs and counting.

StarkReality 10-14-2007 04:07 PM

Hmm, never heard of them, sticking with the big names

directfiesta 10-14-2007 04:08 PM

sorry for you ...

Unlimited 10-14-2007 04:19 PM

that really sucks

Sly 10-14-2007 04:21 PM

Is it an issue of you trying to recover data or do you just want your sites about online? If you just want your sites online, you can have them back up yet tonight with another provider. If a host takes over 27 hours to get back online and maintains absolutely no contact... is it really somebody that you want to continue doing business with?

I hope you don't lose any data. I've been there before, it sucks.

HCBabes 10-14-2007 04:26 PM

I do intend on getting them back up with another provider but it's the dataloss that is killing me.

From the sound of it, not much.

baddog 10-14-2007 04:40 PM

It is funny, I just got a call about these guys about 10 minutes ago. It is suspected that they are closing up shop . . . but that could just be speculation.

I know one of their resellers is treating it as if they are closing up shop.

BoyAlley 10-14-2007 04:43 PM

I've never heard of them either.......

waste 10-14-2007 05:02 PM

I heard the rumor they closed up but it could just be a rumor. but if a host is down for 27 hours with no communication I don't see them having any customers left to bring back online

directfiesta 10-14-2007 05:18 PM

don't know if it is good:

Send a message via ICQ to lelahosting 2886405 ( Tim )

HCBabes 10-14-2007 05:20 PM

Tim isn't online and when he was earlier today I didn't get any response from him.

HCBabes 10-14-2007 05:21 PM

Even the parent company CierraGroup is offline.

Loki 10-14-2007 06:01 PM

well, my program and 2 of our paysites were hosted there, looks like their down. also a few of my mainstream clients are down as well.

Trying to get ahold of Tim but so far no luck.

BadDog, hit me up ICQ 307-484-641

Might want to try their provider to see if there is anything you can do to recover your files

rapmaster 10-14-2007 10:46 PM

I had a few blogs with them but they're down now... they charged my credit card yesterday too... bullshit, they could have at least sent an email

SpeakEasy 10-15-2007 01:01 AM

When you go with a small reseller then you should always be ready to get fucked at any moment. When your business is on the net why would you ever trust it to an unknown small reseller? Stick with the older big guys with an established repoutation and proven track record. :2 cents::2 cents:

HairToStay 10-15-2007 04:26 AM

Their support software was stating "license key expired" yesterday before their DNS went down

peterk 10-15-2007 05:46 AM

Hmmm ... that sucks

pr0 10-15-2007 05:51 AM

I'm starting up pr0-hosting.com tomorrow

our slogan will be

"Your cats & sites are safe with us"

I'll be a billionaire

Could a class action lawsuit be possible in these circumstances? Guess there's probably not much to get from them though - it's bullshit that they gave no notice and they even tried to charge my card yesterday

pr0 10-15-2007 02:45 PM

the good news is...you've got solid hosts out there to switch to

webair
ironpathnetworks
oc3
mojohost

of course as always, i never suggest virtual accounts with anyone!

Ohhh soon you will be able to ;)

We just invested over 400K into our new Enterprise Class Virtual & Dedicated Server Solutions...I'll post some pics with the soon to be released PR in the near future...stay tuned :thumbsup

HCBabes 10-15-2007 04:18 PM

I think they got the plug pulled on their boxes for not paying the bills. They know that all their customers data is lost and they are in some deep shit. That's why they are not responding.
May as well go jump off a bridge.... Preferably a very tall one.

Loki 10-15-2007 09:40 PM

TMS (the upstream) said this afternoon they would provide a "12 hour window" for clients to "find all of their ip's and logins and retrieve their data"

Then TMS said "Lela owes us thousands"

Then TMS said "If someone wants to assume Lela's debts we will open the boxes back up.

Doesn't look good at all :(

There is nothing wrong with virtual hosting... i'm still on virtual and getting close to breaking my 750Gb/Mo cap, with Colo-cation. Never been happier, and they are almost certainly the exception with my experiences with virtual hosting. Downtime VERY minimal, and uncapped bandwidth. Couple days ago, someone was hitting my sites (probably leeching galleries), and I recorded max bandwidth at 111Mb/sec - box still online and no problems whatsoever.

I do however completely agree that *most* virtual hosting solutions are not appropriate for adult type sites, with the loads we require.

Loki 10-15-2007 10:45 PM

heh heh heh heh you said 'loads'

which is exactly why you shouldn't use a virtual account...1 asshole starts burning 111mbps sustained on a dual or even quad xeon & everyone elses downloads cap out at 50k, if you're lucky

Thats is ONLY because TMS (Lela's Upstream) has been nice enough to open up the boxes for the next 12 hours for all the customers who got fucked over by Lela to snag our sites, databases etc etc etc.

Still does not change the fact that Lela, Billed all their Dedi clients and then 2 hours later pulled all their plugs, disconnected all phone numbers (personal, biz AND cellphones) skipped out on the bills to TMS and pretty much vanished.

er, did you read the thread? TMS brought the boxes back online today for a 12-hour period so lela customers could at least try to retrieve their data... mighty friendly under the circumstances, although some w/ really large data sets probably will not have enough time if they don't already have another host waiting in the wings to FTP the data to... downloading 200GB's of data on your home connection probably won't work out too well..

No kidding, I got 7 sites to pull down, 2 are paysites, 1 is my affil program, I'm fucking happy I beefed up my internet plan last week, cause i'm gonna max it for the next 12 hours lol

Rsync to another server directly would be more appropriate.
