Blog tutorials...?
I need 'em. Started working on my first blog today and I wanna make sure i'm doing everything right so I could start up a network and what not.
If you're feeling helpful please spam me with blog tutorials and "best plug-ins" tips and so on and so forth... :thumbsup |
The best tutorial you can have is actually just by getting started... which you have already done.
Check out www.doshdosh.com and www.andybeard.eu for the best info on the fundementals. Don't go plug in crazy from the start. |

there are a few main things you might want to keep in mind if you are going to blog:
1. text, text and more text - let the se spiders have enough to chew on 2. get a design that will make your blogs stand out - let the surfer remember your blog 3. don't install too many plugins - i wouldn't go over 5-10 4. use the sidebars... surfers do click them and do buy from there 5. post on a regular basis - i recommend at least every two or three days 6. get links from other blogs - the more the better 7. use spam protection 8. did i mention the part where you post lots of text? 9. always keep your blog script updated (!) 10. regarding SEO, always remember to build the blogs for the surfer not for the search engine (!) some wm's tend to forget that.... that's what i can think of right out of my head... but i'm damn tired... maybe i'll add more tomorrow... |

Sign up for Daily Blog Tips. I don't always have time to keep up with Problogger or John Chow, but you can get DBT in your inbox once a day and its a good way to get some basic tips. Read, read read everything you can.
The best way to do it is to just start a blog and learn as you go. Every blog I build is a little bit better than the last one because I take what I've learned from the other ones and put it to work. |

simple
scenario 1 - you aim at a keyphrase of medium difficulty add 30-50 posts original content (gradually), get shitload of backlinks (let say 150 but add about 5 or so a day), very basic SE site optimization --> you're done scenario 2 - you aim at the sky (porn, sex, etc) - grow your site slowly, add shitload of tetx (original), get only relevant, good quality backlinks -> takes longer but the reeward is bigger of course Antonio's mythbuster (words of wisdom): 1. you have to update your blog daily for ever and ever or else... - wrong, have 4 blogs that I stopped updating over 8 months or so ago, all of them shot to page 1 of Google (long after I stopped working on them) for the targeted keyphrases 2. if you don't get relevant backlinks (from the same niche high quality sites) you're fucked - wrong, started 4 sites, got shitload of backlinks, all adult but from just about any niche and type you can think of - 2 got on page 1 for their keyphrases, the other 2 get good traffic too... |
I agree with Antonio... exactly the same experience!
