Anyone ever try their hosting? $119 a month for a dedicated box with 400gb of transfer, we don't operate a TGP or anything, but we're worried it'll be slow.. What's the word?

do a search, this board is like 60% against and 40% for rackshack, probably been 500 threads on them in the last year!

From what I hear, rackshack makes you do ALL the work, they just give you a server. in other words if you know your way around a linux box really well this might be good for you.

If you want real dedicated hosting,
$250 monthly and I'll give you for dedicated machine and 400 gigs.

I dont really know how much money they could possibly make off that deal, but I know that I wouldnt be interested at that price / quantity heheh.

And then do a search on likewhoa and see the board is divided over whether or not they are a good host as well :)

i try to be a good host. i have beer in the fridge and sometimes soft drinks. i have some movies and multiplayer games. the one thing i don't do is let people smoke in my place, though. they can do it on the balcony. so i guess i'm an ok host, but not a good host.

Come over, drink the leftover hooch and captain morgans malt beverage crap that seems to accumulate in my fridge after each of these parties. and to show you what an uber host I am, you can drink ALL my tequila.... I'll even let you take it home w/ you =)

Yeah, it sounds like the 60% against are the 60% who needed customer support, and the 40% for are the people who have not needed it, yet, and are happy with their cheap reliable host. :)

I guess it's your decision in the end. History tends to repeat itself.
