You can use pretty much any Gif edititing software, such as Photoshop, Be warned this will result in picture qaulity loss. BTW is this an animated Gif? if not you should convert the image to Jpeg, that will cut the filesize down.:thumbsup

escortbiz, leme try to figure it out first and if not i'll pass it on to you. don't wana waste your time over my problems, but thanks so much for your response and offer to help.
darkhorse, when i open it in photoshop it says editing this file will result in loseing data, there for, the animated gif will lose its other frames :( |
I use ImageReady for this, the bundled program with Photoshop.
Open the gif file, view it in Optomized and have the Optimize window open. Use the Colors entry in Optomize for the first adjustment, dropping the number down until the image degrades and then back up. You can switch back and forth between Optomized and Original to make certain that you still have a good depiction of the gif. If the file size is still too large, open the Color and Color Table windows. The idea here is to remove individual colors from the Color Table by finding two or more that nearly match. I use both my eyeball and the Color scale to determine these and resort the Color Table by Hue, Luminence and Popularity to get similar hues next to each other for comparison. Some hues that are close to each other can be adjusted a bit up and down to more closely match, so they'll merge when one is removed. When doing this, try to remove the least popular color and GO SLOWLY- there's no Undo function on this, so if you make a mistake, you have to reload the original image and start over again. Hope that helps! |
yup
