Joomla Web Designer - Need an estimate price for site.

What is the estimate price for this site?

My guess is 1600.00 for all that work.

That's a template, which can be had for a few bucks. There are a number of Joomla template clubs.

...and a bunch more.

But you have to be knowledgeable about Joomla to modify stuff, add pages, layouts.

The template is only as good as the designer using it, the custom graphics have to be made by the designer. Also, you have to be knowledgeable with CSS.

Aside from some custom graphics, there's enough documentation provided by the template clubs to get anyone up and going. Two days of your time and maybe a few hundred bucks on some custom graphics and you're good to go.

My girlfriend uses it on the job and is the real pro. If you want to hire someone to do it and not do it yourself, I'm sure she'd do it for you. I do know she belongs to a bunch of those clubs so that's out of the way for starters.

I am knowledgeable about Joomla. I have been using it personally for my personal site and close business friends. I just haven't charged anybody for it yet. I want to know what would be the charge for a business looking for a site design using Joomla. If you ever designed one you would know the templates are as only as good as the webmaser using them. It looks like you never had to build one from the ground up.

Please, give me an estimate for this site design.

Pretend you have no idea about web design or programming but you know you need it for your business.

I just asked her and depending on who the customer is, she'd give a quote somewhere between $1500 - 3000. She did one last year not much different and got $6000 because the guy was looking for a last minute tax write off.

Your $1600 price seems right on target. But the person how knows nothing other than that they need it for their business might be willing to pay a bit more if they're confident in the idea and need for the site.

Thanks .. that is really helpful.

I think I might use it for my friend's bar. I told him he can pay me in beer and tequila. He has an active bar full of events, news and specials. He would benefit from a site designed in Joomla.

I gotta start charging people. My Joomla skills are getting better. The learning curve is pretty fast once you get the concept behind Joomla and they way it works.
