[BIZ] do you follow the REPS?
just read this in tassy's thread

I never thought anyone would be actually doing it. |
I never really even talked to my reps when i was promoting other stuff, I just did my thing. I never really paid attention to where they moved to or from either, now I do more so but it wont change my decisions about who to promote or not.

I follow results
|
I can't even keep track of who I'm working for! How would I keep track of everyone else?
|
thats a great point Sly.

in most cases these REPS dont know shit about what they are selling, so why would i follow anything they offer? just because they got a pair of fake tits?
they are REPS because they cant make money any other way, other than annoy webmasters for their traffic. :2 cents: |

Following them would just take way too much effort...effort that should be spent making money! |
Guess it is just a difference in style. I'm old school sales and I know that when a Rep takes the time to help me, that they will do that, reguardless of whom he works for.
shrug .. maybe it's cause we attend so many shows, and get to meet our Reps on a more personal basis. :2 cents: |
Not in a million years
|
never really had a rep help me with anything that I couldn't think of / do myself easily...
|
I can't say I actively follow... I'd feel I was kind of a stalker if I did.
But an effect I think a rep's company-hopping can have, is the mainly desired effect... attention. When you hang around on boards, you'll recognize those with a "constant presence" after a while, and when a rep's move is announced, it'll bring your attention to the new company - a company that you maybe "never noticed" before. Wether you like the company or not. We're kinda soaked in marketing, if it's not us marketing it's us being marketed to. |
