Not a clue but I can tell you that sucrose will kick lactose's ass any day of the week.

they just different types of sugar. the only difference is where the carbon molecule attaches to the atom.
some sugars are easier/harder to digest. ie lactose is the sugar found in milk.... lot's of people can't digest that well |

Yeah... I think it has something to do with the valence electrons and the type of bonds and shit... I've been outta school too long to remember... but I think Hydrogen has the strongest bond, and since Lactose has 2 more hydrogen atoms, it's harder to break up.
