For hosting a small website ?

I used them when I was starting out and my account was suspended for "excessive bandwidth" although I was well under their promised limits.

They had excessive downtime and were complete garbage. Spend a bit more and get something better, unless of course downtime isn't a big deal.

For small I say hit up Sly at phatservers. If you want a great dedicated and outstanding service go with jim over at techiemedia.net

Though Phatservers is all around great to for dedicateds.

It is a very very very small website
 

with no media, not even a single photo, Okay, one single photo, very small one

the rest is only text and Cyrillic text even that has been known for less load than latin text on servers :1orglaugh

but i am still afraid from what i read, that even with such a site, Servage will pull my server down for exceeding BW limits even though this small site only gets PPC traffic, but i hate to get scammed in $6.9

so if i want a very small capacity as u can see with reliability who should i go to ? :winkwink:

You want to know the truth......OK here you go........ if you run mainstream sites they are awesome.......the support is the best (response time in 2-4 hours)......BUT BUT BUT............ the traffic limitations are utterrr BULLSHIT.......why you may ask?.....simple, they say you are allowed to use 3.6TB a month *bandwidth* ... but they cap your monthly hits to 400K....that means that once you reach that amount of hits you get a warning email saying some bullshit about your hits and you have to regulate your traffic otherwise you account gets suspended.......

Everytime a picture/image/ etc is served to a browser it counts as a hit...

I was running a TGP with them and using 3.8GB a day I was reaching 300K hits.....so say I used 5GB a day that would definitively surpass the 400K (hits a day) so 5GB X 30 days = 150GB a month.........if you reach that much your acc gets deactivated..... AND THE BEST PART IS....... they do NOT offer upgrade to dedicated/colocated/shared or anything!.......

So....you decide....

BTW... that TGP was relatively small..............
