Clubbing/Entertainment Site
 

I am currently running a mainstream nightclub entertainment type site that is city specific. I am looking for some suggestions on what i can do with the site/traffic to make some extra cash. I prefer not to use adult sponsors for this site however i have looked into promoting 'girlsgonewild' type content... I have looked into a few non-adult affiliate programs as well such as essay services, internet eraser, dating programs, t shirt hell etc...

Currently i have around 1700 members as it is a free service. I am open to any suggestions that you may have. Whether they be affiliate programs or anything else. If you can give me some good suggestions with your referal id i will sign up under you if it has a tiered program.

Are you saying to offer a service to the venues? Charge them a fee for providing a live cam feed from the club/lineup on my site?

Make the venue buy the gear. Webcam, used computer
ISP account.

Then do a simple 30sec refresh.

You scoop the user fee for "hosting" such a great
advertising tool for them.

Mainstream entertainment sites are really hard to make money on. If you find the magic solution, let us know.

If you have some time on your hands you could approach various clubs and tell them you have 1500 avid users of your site and find if they are intersted in doing some type of VIP/no cover type deal for your members. Then you could charge users of your site a small fee per month to access a members area where you would list vip events, lets say 1 per weekend, and in the mebers area they would be able to add there name to the guest list. Both you and the clubs would benefit from this type of arrangement. The clubs would get potentially hundreds of new customers and you would get some income for your site.

Then as your site grows, it could become a word of mouth success and the clubs would be calling you, possibly even paying you to direct clubbers to their clubs

And after all that time and effort, you'd have as much money as you'd make on 3 signups from ARS.

I think adult friend finder would be a good fit.

or you'd have a multi-million dollar idea that grows nationally... no risk no reward...eh?

You may wanna ask Toodamnfli on this board. When I first met him back in 99 or so I remember he was running an entertainment type site like that for L.A. Not sure if he still is but he may have some ideas for you.

Well, I know a few club owners and promoters, and I can tell you that I think a camera inside would never work in a real trendy place.

1) The hip crowd is probably at the trendy resaurant before the club. Not at home checking the site to see if it's packed or not.

2) We all know about the fake line-up. You wait outside for 15 mins cause it SEEMS like it must be jamming. You get inside and it's empty. No WAY would an owner risk showing that BEFORE he gets your cash. He'd be an idiot.

as for what I'd recommend is a short clip inside a club when it's busy. You make a mini-internet commercial showcasing the style of the place, or at least the type of people that go there. And make the site very "Maxim" like. Young, stupid, fast and hip.

its all good. It was just another mainstream venture I jumped into
thats still going good at the moment.Also check out the adult portion of the site.We currently sell sex toys and as you can see everyone loves the toys! Just for FYI for people in LA or surrounding counties its the most comprehensive site for local happenings..also for out of town people too

the most important thing is to have an oflfine presence. WIthout an offline presence what your doing isnt going to mean jack shit. Employ some local college kids to distribute flyers on campus for class credit. Once u have established a physical presence the rest will come pretty easy..

What are clubgoers looking for when they go to a club? Good music & hot looking people. How are you going to show that on a site?

One of my fave infomercials is that annoying guy interviewing girls at clubs for some 1-900 thing, "Call now, talk to hot girls at a club, blah blah blah..." Maybe a short video type thing would work, who knows, surfers are a weird lot.
