SKYPE - Reliability and Opinions??

Yo,

Would anyone Actually USING SKYPE please comment on its Reliability

I'm sick of ICQ... and I'm thinking of moving to SKYPE.

I need something Reliable. But I'm worried that like ICQ... after a while... it will start to break down like ICQ... and the move to it (skype) will be a wasted effort.

Please post your opinions

Thanks

Mr.Bond

It's more reliable than ICQ

Why do you need to 'move' over? I have ICQ, Skype and MSN running all the tme.

well... I want to UNIFY my users... ICQ will linger... but hopefully people in the biz will eventually get off it.

I don't see ICQ getting its act together anytime soon... and We Need Reliable communications

I love Skype, use it more and more every week.

Cool.. but how is its Reliability when you get a lot of users on your list.

Problem is... I willl basically be forcing my users to get Skype if they want support on my system.

And that of course is stupid if SKYPE will eventually break down like ICQ

Skype will eventually break down because it is dependant on the same sort of technology as P2P - the messages are passed through other users to you. ISPs are not going to tolerate this forever, and it only takes one to pull the plug to turn Skype from useful tool to the Napster of phone service.

Already some ISPs are getting snippy about Vonage.

Is it because its not trendy??? But I have used yahoo messenger for chat and its audio although not the greatest part is ok.....I have 1000,s of contacts and used it for years for chat without problem?

Maybe its too established ???and not cutting edge? Just curious!

Skype is definitely more reliable. I switched to it a couple of years ago. Not bad at all.
