We listen to our affiliates (the ones who actually send us traffic) and in response to them, we had all of those banners taken down and the accounts closed.

The only people we have to answer to are our affiliates. Those who don't send us traffic just aren't a priority.

We're not here to be industry spokesmen, industry leaders or any of that.

The affiliates, who've built us, are also now being paid more for their free trials and console-free signups.

I've been pushing you since around 2004, back when you were still at EGC and Brad was at APM. Nothing major, around 75 sales in the last 3 years. But still, I was an affiliate.

Whoever Timbo is, I'd recommend keeping him off the boards. He left a bad taste in a lot of mouths.

So, then come back anyways. Look, bottom line in this industry is about the money you make. Fact is, APM has always paid on time and have sites that convert. There are never any "APM is shaving" or "APM missed a payout" or any of that other shit.

I started a thread on why people are in this business and almost all of the answers were "money". We run polls on our site all the time and the common answer when it comes to what affiliates want: higher payouts and more money. We provide that. I'm not here to win any popularity contests or buy everyone drinks so they can tell the world what a stand up guy I am. I'm here to make money. You should be here to make money. Anyone who is just here to look at free porn should just wait for more "Would you hit it?" threads or surf the many links provided here for free porn.

As for conversions, what does it tell you that people that had access to that much free porn, STILL signed up to APM sites?

Sykk, I'll consider it. Money is the bottom line, but never forget that everyone has their own moral compass. While you might be OK with supporting content theft (regardless of the end result), others are definitely not.

Obviously, we all have our moral compasses. I mean, one guy who has an issue with torrent sites has no problems loading up a cracked copy of Photoshop to start designing something or downloading a couple MP3s from their favorite band.

I would never tell anyone how to run their business. For now, torrents aren't illegal. There's nothing wrong with trying new means of traffic generation. Some work and some don't. Some are worthwhile and some are worth shit. You have to do what makes financial sense for you. We're not going to run our business based on a thread on GFY, nor should anyone.
