For those coding CSS Table-less pages [TOOL]

Get FireBug. Prolly one of the nicest FireFox plugins. Try it out, you won't be sorry.

Takes 2 fucken seconds, doesn't just look like a table, it is a table and it renders fine in all browsers

It's not about how fast it can be done. There are a lot of advantages to Table-less pages.

Actually, if you know CSS, making a <div> </div> can be a whole lot faster than making a <table><tr><td></td></tr></table.

I love css but the damn cross browser compatibility is such a bitch.

alby_persignup 10-06-2007 10:47 AM

looks awesome! thanks

be aware that it has a giant memory leak and will eat up your memory if you browse with it enabled

Yah it's a bitch forsure. Get it looking good in FF, then check IE 6 :( Always something different. I'm getting better, but still... takes time. I think it's worth it in the end. If you know what you're doing making CSS pages will always help your SEO.

are you serious? :1orglaugh:1orglaugh

tables, you have a navigation on the left, content, then more navigation, when spidered, the bot sees the navigation first, and then lists that in your search results, but if you use css/divs then you can make the content show in the source first, then navigation, but actualyl viewing the page, it looks like tables, thus getting your CONTENT indexed, not your navigation
