Good, now all those starving musicians can finally get their money and feed their family, and butlers, and maids.

So..once a musician becomes wealthy and successful...they're expected to forfeit all copyright protections? :disgust

Not at all, but do you think the musicians getting ripped off made 0 dollars during the time this broad was downloading all this music? All I'm saying is they are all still making a ton of money, no need for this full scale witch hunt.

Dirty Dane 10-05-2007 11:14 PM

0wned!!!

flashfire 10-05-2007 11:34 PM

porn sites make tons of money...no need to worry about copy laws as far as stolen content goes

right?

fallenmuffin 10-05-2007 11:56 PM

$9,520 or so per song. That's one expensive two-sided CD.

My guess is you aren't a producer of copyrighted content and have never been affected by copyright infringement.

Mickey Mouse 10-06-2007 12:31 AM

I can't bring myself to feel bad for her at all. She had a chance to settle before it went to court.

Az A Bay Bay 10-06-2007 03:00 AM

Of course not... the punishment should fit the crime though... this lady got bankrupt for essentially copying and handing out a cd to a few of her friends.

I'm sure she knows each one individually and they lunch all the time - puh-lease

I don't understand... how is that relevant?

woj 10-06-2007 08:32 AM

I feel a little bad for her, but if she was ripping cds and putting them up online, then fuck her....

ultimatebbwdotcom 10-06-2007 08:35 AM

Because even though people will lend the odd film or cd to "real world" friends, she clearly wasn't doing that.

Trivializing her hobby of re-distributing copyrighted work to tens of thousands as "a few friends" is as far from what she was doing as you can get.

Violetta 10-06-2007 09:48 AM

sucks to be her...

True that :thumbsup

For those of us who produce original content and have it stolen and capitalized on by slimebag thieves - I love it when cases like this help solidify legal precedents.

alby_persignup 10-06-2007 10:46 AM

dude! thats a lot!

DWB 10-06-2007 01:04 PM

Good.

Fuck her.

That's what stealing gets you.

I can't wait until w start going after porn theives like this. One thief at a time.

DWB has no love for those who pirate.

SomeCreep 10-06-2007 01:10 PM

That'll teach her.

Cuteshooter 10-06-2007 01:14 PM

An overly strong punishment perceived as "unfair" will have the opposite of its intended effect on the public.

Pleasurepays 10-06-2007 01:28 PM

fucking people. first you start defending the theft of copyrighted material and its distribution... then move on to BS about the crime fitting the punishment.

i didn't read the link... but this dumb bitch was given the chance to pay a few $$$ and get a get out of jail free card but she decided to fight it like a moron. the choice to lose 220K was hers... she's not a victim.

My thoughts as well. The general public will rally around her now. They will never see the full amount either. If it was a reasonable amount it could have made news and brought the point across at the same time. For example a nice $20k fine etc.

LiveDose 10-06-2007 02:03 PM

She should milk the publicity while she can and make some money off the spotlight....lol

gecko 10-06-2007 02:10 PM

Ouch.. but she was asking for it

SilentKnight 10-07-2007 12:17 AM
