I have a random cat mix. He's no special breed, but I recently taught him to play fetch.

I was thinking about one of these savannah cats

Remember if you plan on leaving it alone unless you buy it a shitload of things to keep it busy you want dumb cat not smart. Smart gets bored and then destructive.

I think the normal street cats (or called mixed race) are actually pretty smart. I had one that played fetch and could open doors.. I was laughing my ass off about him all the time..

:thumbsup

Tony's right on the money.

Having managed both, I've found that cat's are, generally, smarter than dogs... but it takes _a lot_ more effort - and constant attention, to train a cat... mostly because cat's don't have that inherent "need to please" that dogs have.

If you're thinking you're not going to be around a lot, do yourself (and your pets) a favor, and get two cats - that way they keep themselves occupied.

Otherwise, stick to something you'd keep in an aquarium or terrarium. :2 cents:

I have a pixi-bob that used to live at Eric Rodgers house in Ballard. Kelly owned him. When he moved out of the country I got him. He is the coolest cat ever. You may have seen him... He's got a short tail and looks kinda like a bobcat. He's awesome. He is just like a dog it's weird.

Oh my god I know that cat i used to live in that House with them like 7 years ago. On the 3rd floor. Your right that cat is very smart:thumbsup he used to play fetch with him.

Kard63 10-05-2007 03:42 PM

Thunder cats.... duh

PixieBobs are great. I have 5 of them (momma cat and 4 of her babies from one litter). They are now 10 and 9 years old.

If you end up wanting a pixiebob or two, the originator of the breed is in Bellingham. I got my momma cat from her and bred her with one of her males to get the litter that she had.

They are great cats. Similar to Savannahs (although not as lanky), but I've heard Savannahs can be on the destructive side.
