Has anyone upgraded from Wordpress 2.2.3 to the new 2.3 version?

If so, any known issues ect.. before I start the upgrade?

yes, I have done some. There is some pretty major changes "under the hood" in the data base area, such that many plugins that directly access the databased to fill in information get broken. You should take your current list of plugins and look to see if there are replacements.

This is also an upgrade you can't go back from easily, so make sure you back up your databases before you upgrade, in case you don't like the results. This is a less urgent upgrade, as this isn't a security patch but an actual code upgrade.

Nah... I sticking to 2.2.3 until 2.3.1...most bugs should be worked out by then.

Went without problems for me. Very smoot, except that my theme doesn't seem to support tags so I'll have to work around that. All of my plug ins worked fine, it went really smooth for me :)

I have been mixed on doing this upgrade.. I may just do it on a new blog I am starting and see how that goes with all my plugins, then see if I want to try it one of my others...

I'm going to upgrade a smaller blog tomorrow and see how it goes before I decide to do the others I think :)

Oh lord dont do it. That is all I can say. The database tables are changed meaning lots of important category related stuff will not work. It is also difficult to undue because the table are changed. I am glad I tried it on my smallest site first. :Oh crap

Has anyone else upgraded to the new version? I have a few blogs and I'm afraid to upgrade...lol

Babaganoosh 01-09-2008 09:07 PM

Not about to touch that update...yet.

NinjaSteve 01-09-2008 09:59 PM
