Free Classifieds for Webmasters... Selling something? Services, Domains, Traffic?
 

Help me out and get yourself some free traffic.


I added classifieds to my site, www.referralmatrix.com They are getting traffic right now, but as soon as I get a decent amount of listings I will start promoting the classifieds area a lot. So it will be worth your time (2 minutes) to create a free account, and copy and paste the products or services that you sell.

Damn, 1000s of people on here who sell something, hosting, web design, domains, programming, etc etc... take 2 mins and make a classified ad and get yourself some free exposure.

will a suggestion here for your programmer (or you). Try to implement some sort of reputation system so people are more comfortable doing business with it.
That would be a cool feature.

I will add this feature in future updates. Hopefully in the next couple months.

I had to think about how to do this one just write. Since the site is not involved with the transaction like ebay or rent a coder type sites, it makes it a little harder to make the reputation system have meaning.

The best thing I have thought of so far was to allow members to rate other members, scale " thumbs down - neutral - thumbs up " but the members name who is doing the rating will be shown. So there will be no anonymous bashing. If you want to say someone sucks or you had a problem with them your member name will be displayed next to your comments. I will also allow the member to reply one time to comments made about them.... similar to ebay.

I just signed up for it. Hope this works out for you. Hey, small glitch I noticed is that when I click the "Check Availability" of my preferred User Name when signing up, it ALWAYS says "User Name is Not Available" no matter what I type in. I used Safari browser when signing up--FYI. I did get signed up ok though, and even posted a classified ad to help you get going.

I will pass that along to my programmer. I am noticing the same problem too.


Thanks for signing up and making an ad. You should get some business from it.

Just a suggestion ... don't require people to have to signup to your system to reply to the ads just yet and allow posters to link to their offer outside of your system.

Build your user base. Once webmasters are comfortable using the system and use it regularly - then change it.

I don't require them to use my internal messaging system to communicate. Someone can make a classified ad post and put their icq or email on it and I am not going to delete it or censor it out. I would prefer people to use my system so it will cut down on spam they may get from posting that info publicly, but it is up to them to decide if they want to do it or not.

The actual signup to the site part takes at most 60 seconds. Signup, copy and paste your ad that you have probably posted on a messageboard or some where else, you looking at about 3 - 4 minutes tops.

In some cases the person who wants to respond to an add wont have to signup, i kind of leave that up to the person who made the classified ad (if he displayed his contact info or not). If someone wants to reply and there is no contact info displayed, again it takes about 60 seconds to make an account :winkwink: so i am not asking for much ( i hope not lol).

I'll play it by ear and see how this goes and make changes if this isn't working out. Thanks for the feedback.
