Who remembers Andy of sexswap/trix newsletter
http://trix.sexswap.com/
Blast from the past, however if you do some reading - alot of great modern ideas that have been capitalized and even recently solidified. But what do I know, I just make porn... |
Quote:
I posted some stuff to him on Newsgroup spamming and how to build Filesharing networks (the same concepts used in p2pbuilder pro) way back although I did it under alias'. The newsletter was a great idea and I'm sure it helped a lot of people back in the day. Thanks for the blast from the past! |

Sheesh.. compare the biz now to then - it's a bunch of useless idiots all trying to earn $500 which are now in the majority - apart from the obvious serious webmasters with a clue. Can only give my :2 cents: - I used to actually help people, but realized it was pointless - apart from the rare few. |
That newsletter was fantastic for sure. I remember hearing he was ill, but never heard much after that.
|
One of the best newsletters ever.
Does he still own lips.com? |
I miss those weekly emails. He was the man.
|
I don't think he's dead. I talked to him not too long ago. Lips.com was recently sold.
|
I read most of them..you will find some interesting posts there including one huge well known name thats on gfy telling you how to sell your members data to everyone and to exploit the hell out of that member..:1orglaugh
I think someones looking back in the past can be dangerous lol. No Im not saying who ..read and find out :thumbsup |
It's me! and yes, I'm still alive. :thumbsup Thank you all for the kind words...I had a lot of fun back in the old days of porn. In the beginning it felt like there were only a handful of people and almost anything you tried ended up making traffic. These days I'd be scared to even dabble in porn since I'd be lost with all the legal red-tape and I can only imagine how tough the competition is?
If you are bored and want to hear what I've been up to since 2002, pull up a chair and pour the tequila. What's everyones favorite tequila? My favorite tequila these days is Galardon...but it's so hard to get now that I go for Tres Generacion. Back to the stories... I noticed that I'm not allowed to post more than one url so I will try and write them out like GFY dot com. Sorry about this. Stocks Some of you may remember that I've always enjoyed trading stocks. This is how I make my income these days and for the last six years I've been averaging in the 17% a year range. After porn I decided to self-publish a book on how I trade. I don't even think I've broken even on the project...I think I spent maybe 5k writing and advertising and then made back about 4k. Every few months a check for $30 arrive which cracks me up. I still trade in the same way I describe in the book. What was I thinking when I picked this domain name? This has to be the worst name. hehe Great Companies Great Charts dot com Sick As Chio mentioned...in 1998 I got cancer (melanoma) and had surgery. Since then I've had a couple more surgeries and I'm currently cancer-free and generally pretty happy. Cancer will probably get me in the end but right now I'm on top of it and doing well. Cobras During the end of my days in porn, I decided the next project I wanted to do was...build a 427 Ford Cobra. The project almost killed me and took two years. Some of you may remember that I started to get big on blogging at the end of my porn stay...and so all my hobbies since then were heavily blogged. Here is my cobra adventure. Cobra Lads dot com I think I budgetted for 40k and ended up spending probably 80k+ when all was said and done. I ended up selling the car to a buyer in Norway for around 50 in 2002. That car was quite fast...if you do a quick horsepower to weight ratio check on any car...try 2600lbs to 579hp. Engines I ended up blowing up two engines during the above project and decided the next adventure should be engine-building. I enjoyed engine building so much that I competed in a kind of world championships of it called Jeg's Engine Masters Challenge. Here was my blog about those days. Pirates Of Horsepower dot com Virtual Worlds I've always been into gaming and some of you might remember that I ran Half-life servers out of my house for a long time. In the last four years I've been playing more games like World of Warcraft and Second Life. If you are looking for the next gold-rush, you might start looking at games since virtual worlds are exploding. I did a small project last year and started creating women's hairstyles in Second Life and IMVU...I've cleared over $30,000 in 18 months...just screwing around. That is not porn money, but its interesting money and it is early in the virutal game and I have several friends clearing 200 large, doing the same thing. 200k net...is pretty sweet money working with Photoshop and Maya. The site I used to write about virtual worlds is... Taunt dot com Lips I did sell Lips.com recently at one of the Moniker convensions. It sold for $135,000 which I was pleased with. If abd old pals are reading this, you can write me now at andy at Wild Bikini dot com Just Moved I used to live in Upland California which is kind an hour inland from LA. My wife and I recently moved to Palm Springs...I dig the heat. Those are my stories and updates. Thanks again for the kind mention. I'm always looking for the next online 'gold-rush' but I'm getting lazier and lazier the older I get. I've lost touch with most porn friends but Legendary Lars and I still talk stocks every few months. Andy |
Thanks for the update Andy! It's great to hear that you're doing well, and congrats on the lips.com sale! :thumbsup
|
Great follow-up Andy, glad you could post :)
|
Wow, a true blast from the past...I used to read those newsletter religiously...
hell, I'm sure some of th methods i still use are in thanks to that newsletter... |
Talk about blast from the past!! I used to love those newsletters and I think I had a tip or 2 included in there somewhere. Glad to see your still around Andy. Stay healthy!
|
Glad your doing well. Those were the days hey, I always remember those newsletters.
|
Thanks for the post Andy. I used to always look forward to reading your newsletters...
|
Great to hear you are doing well.
I always did read your newsletters, in fact those were the only ones I was reading. |
I really enjoyed reading your newsletter back in the day. It was one of the best source of information outhere and help me a lot. Thanks and good luck in all your projects :)
|
I, too, was a loyal reader of your newsletter back in the day. In fact, you also listed a little business I had in your shameless plugs section (I think that's what it was called).
Anyway, thanks to you and everyone who contributed tips and tricks back then. It's unfortunate that those days are long gone. There was some comradery back then, something that is pretty much extinct these days. |
Thanks for the update andy..
I remember you bought some high priced power toilet... u still got it? |
Registered in 2002 with 7 posts, but your newsletters probably STILL have more valuable information than all the crap posted on the forums these days.
Glad to see you're doing good Andy. I know you won't remember me, but we talked a few times through email towards the end of the life of newsletter. You're one of the few that immediately comes to mind when people ask me about the "good old times" and the really great people that were part of it. You definitely left your mark. |
Hey Andy, nice to see you still doing well.
still play any foosball? :winkwink: |
Andy is one of the finest people in (or out) of the business.
His "trix" newsletters are something that you'll be able to look back at 25 years from now and realize that monetizing traffic on the internet was actually new at some point. And Andy figured out a LOT of stuff before anybody else. Everytime I got an email from him with "Mojo man! I got an idea and I'm testing something!" I knew Andy figured out something else. :) Hit me up ANDEEEEEE! |
jesus christ... i used to read those newsletters religously...
Talk about a blast from the past... |

Massive fan of your newsletters :thumbsup |
You truly are a legend in this industry!
|
Go Andy! I still got your on my ICQ list for LOL like 10 years LOL!
|
Wow, talk about way back! I used to have ads in those old weeklys for web hosting. :thumbsup
|
glad you are alive and well - i remember reading the newsletter with the cancer stuff and crossing my fingers it would turn out ok. i hate industry everything, radio shows, resource sites, most boards but I always read Andy's Trix, a great read and filled with great information. :thumbsup
well too bad about your old budy Legendary Lars - he turned into a grade A douchebag when he got bought out/merged/whatever with AFF. |
Nice to see you are still doing well.
I think I learned more from your newsletter when I was getting started than from anywhere else. Thanks for writing them man! |
Andy,
I remember this like it was yesterday! LMFAO Ah, the memories :) Funny stuff! Glad to hear you are doing well, my friend :thumbsup :thumbsup ... and I used to read your news letter religiously!!!!!!! ----------------------------------------------------------- http://trix.sexswap.com/swap123.html FRANK AND THE PORSCHE 911 TURBO Who was this madman from my past? The man who got both the Guru-O-Gif and King Karl into porn was Frank Walley. Frank is "Mr.Sales", and is both loved and hated by various webmaster groups. He has a colorful past and always makes me laugh. I thought Frank was serving time in Folsom or perhaps hiding on a Carribean island with a swiss bank account. Frank and I told a few stories and then he asked "Want to take a ride in the rocket?". As long as I have know Frank, he has always had amazing cars. Currently he had a very rare, $100,000 porsche 911 Turbo. We got in the rod and began tooling around the busy streets of vegas. Frank dropped the clutch and punched it. This car was fast...fucking fast. 0-60 in 3.5 seconds. That is fast. Top speed reported at 190, and Frank has seen 172mph. I was terrified. I was more terrified than when I lost my Quake3 hat riding the Despeardo coaster in Primm. This was really a treat. Frank dropped me off at the venetian but he yelled for me to go and grab "Seth" in the taxi stand. I am like this drunk, long heaired, under dressed madman, running around the very busy car loading area asking everyone if they are seth. I go back to frank and he says "Forget seth, go grab Johnathan". Johnathon is like one of the 3 kings of porn...he is FantasyMan's right hand man. I have never met Johnathon in person, so I do not know what he looks like. Frank yells at me "grab the blad guy"....fuck, there is like 24 bald guys out here. So this long haired, drunken bastard is running around, yelling at bald guys in the taxi loading area of the Venetian. I tap the real Johnathon on the back and I am so confused at Frank's instructions byt this point that I yell "Is your name Seth". Johnathon says no and quickly jumps into the cab for fear for his safety. I then do one of those quick turn and walks and WHAM, I flatten out one of the Venetian staff members who gives me the evil eye from hell. At this point I am about 15 seconds away from being detained by security. I decide to wave bye to Frank and get the hell out of the taxi area before I get arrested. "Johnathon", if by some chance you read this, I am very sorry for bothering you in the taxi line, I was trying to get you for Frank who wanted to give you a ride in his car so you wouldn't have to take a taxi. I hope we can meet in person some time where I do not appear as a lunatic. |
wow Frank Walley that's a blast from the past. what happened to him? i used to do design work for their cam sites, itslive or itsreal.com
|
Last I heard Frank was in the Strip club business :winkwink:
Back in 2001 Frank, Karl, myself and a couple other partners owned EliteCash, PureHardcore and the rest of the sites together. We acquired nude pictures of Cindy Margolis at the time she said she was the most downloaded woman on the internet and she never posed nude like Dani Ashe who ALSO claimed to be the most downloaded woman online. I went on the Howard Stern show to relaunch the program touting the pics and to blow Cindy's claims out of the water. It was a great appearance and we generated a lot of sales and webmasters began sending traffic. We thought it was an excellent way to gain a ton of exposure, which it was BUT we found out that the guy we bought the images from sold them exclusively to someone else, which resulted in legal issues that ended with us closing the program. Again, ah the memories! :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh Frank was one helluva character to put it mildly! |
J$tyles never ceases to amaze. Haha
