why for no aussie webmaster get-togethers???
 

Just wondering what it is that seems to be preventing them from happening? Is it lack of aussie webmasters or just a lack of talent here? From where I sit, it appears as if the very thing preventing our progress is the lack of networking options available to webmasters of the world, limiting the economic viability of each webmaster, and making it a more time intensive, less attractive and somewhat laborious process. I reckon a decent go at a webmaster get-together in australia would be worth the effort, what about you???:)

Yes it sounds like a good idea bringing together aussie adult webmasters and sponsors in the one place on the east coast of Australia. All could network with others in the adult online industry, experience a bit of face to face contact with people in the business.

australia had its porn boom in the 90's. all the current pornographers came from the same egg and no-one really likes each other because they've screwed or been screwed or paranoid about the law or tax man.
we used to have a monthly gathering in sydney, a yearly gathering on the gold coast, and a bunch of smaller ones around the place. You just have to find your locals & catch up for drinks ... there's plenty of adult webmasters in every area of australia!!! ;p

They did have one going at the gold coast last year I am pretty sure they had one, there are a few sponsors around from australia sapphiccash.com is tasmania, David from anywebcam.com is Melbourne I believe and the guys from juicybucks.com are from the gold coast and from what I hear are always keen to meet up with people whn there in town.

I am from Tasmania and will be returning home for christmas for 2 weeks, if any webmasters wan't to meet, hook me up.

It's been 7 years since I have been back to Oz and 18 years since I've had Xmas with my family.

I'm pretty sure they are mate.

cj_purve is right, it is hard to get everyone together of late, as in adult webmasters in Oz. And yes, a way to go, could be, "find your locals & catch up for drinks". So a few of us would like to offer just this.

There has been a few, that have been trying to get an aussie adult webmaster gathering happening since 09/Aug/07 on the east coast of Australia.

Adam from Wildcash helped start it off, also the aussie sponsor of David and Randall from ANYwebcam have also showed interest and offered help and support. We have heard wyldworx could, like it to be held in Melbourne, with adrian_w having shown interest in it being held in Sydney, as with others. But we agree with Adam_Wildcash, CuriousToyBoy, GCG (Jason from goldcoastgirls), the Gold Coast Qld could be the place to have it, as cj_purve has said it used to be held there each year, as we again would like to hold such an event.

There is a new, very small, aussie adult webmasters site started with a page about and with input from aussie's on the said event. If others would like to have a say, one could icq us for details on how to get there, as we donot want to break GFY rules in posting address.

And also it is to late in the year now to think about getting on the grog and networking. With that said, if we can plant the seed now, stay in touch, and into the new year work out a time that suite's all to meet and get on the piss, hey bobs your uncle, it could happen.

I remember those gatherings on the gold coast 3-4 years ago. Lots of fun.
It would be fun to get together again, but seriously, what did we talk about?

"whos the spammer?" no one put up their hands.

We talked about paysites, content, keeping members and some great other tips. But it was mostly it was about introducing yourself to other webmasters and sponsors and doing some deals.

I would really enjoy getting together with a group of Australia Webmasters but think CJ has a good point.
What maybe a good middle ground would be to have something at one of the larger resorts and make it "Business Card Only"
That way we could get together, have a fun time, talk biz wothout bringing any unwanted outside attention:2 cents:

Been away since 97 except for 2 short trips but planning to move back to Sydney late 2008. doubt I will commute as much as Jason does but will be back and forward to Vegas and shows.

Be good if some meetings east coast.
