Problem With XBox?
Anyone ever had a problem with their Xbox not reading games? Mine won't read any games, old or brand new? As soon as the load page is done at the beginning it crashes and says it can't read the disk.
Dunno it kind of sucks. Any help would be appreciated. DH |
first question, is the games legal
|
Yeah the games are all legal.

Come join me at another forum, very funny people there, AND utmost helpfull. I have a new xbox and ran into some probs as well.
Maybe we can trade games in time:thumbsup http://www.xboxclubhouse.com/ |
I am so pissed off. The guy I bought this Xbox off of this week is not willing to help me with this problem. I bought the Xbox with 2 controllers, graphics pack and 3 games off him for $400 Can. And NO it is not stolen.
Supposdly this fuckin thing is only 4 months old and has worked fine since day 1. I have had it for 5 days and it just messed up. It won't play any games... I have even tried hooking it up to another tv. The guy I bought it off of is an old buddy and he says he sold me the Xbox for another friend and he didn't make any money out of it. Anyways I told him about the problem and he accused me of breaking it. Which I did not... Anyways I politely asked him if he would be so kind to fix it for me and or get me another one. He said there is nothing he can do... He told me to put it back in the box and bring it to Walmart to return it for another one. So he basically is asking me to commit fraud by returning the Xbox to a store that it was not origionally purchased from... Anyways that ai'n't going to happen... I am soooo pissed. It is not the money, I could not give a shit about the $400 it's just the way he handled it... Should I wrap the thing up, drive over to his door and throw it at him? Or should I bring it to a computer store and try to get it fixed? Or should I try and get someone to bring it back from me? I am trying to get ahold of the guy that origionally owned it but I doubt that fucker will do anything to help me... I am pissed, what do you guys think? DH |
Buy another X-Box - then return your old X-Box with your new receipt, for a cash refund.

There should be a serial # on the box and a serial # on the Xbox... when the store goes to return it Microsoft most likely won't accept it back unless the serial #'s match... and you could be caught if you paid with check, credit, or have to fill out a form when you return it and give your driver's license #...
|
I'm assuming he'd have original box, and unless the serial number of the Xbox goes on the receipt, it shouldn't be a problem.

Xbox is the dopest console ever! That being said they also suck major ass...my advice to anyone buying an xbox is to get the extended warranty as soon as you 2 months runs up!
I am currently in a huge piss with M$ over whether or not my xbox was faulty from the get go...we'll see what happens, but I aint gonna pay $100 bucks to have it fixed when they'll be at $150 soon... |
The XBox does not play illegal games.

I bought 7 games yesterday, looking forward to getting them in the mail. Buffy and RalliSport Challenge are among those 7. I heard they are the best. I got Spiderman too, supposedly that is very cool too. Quote:
Microsoft already told me to get it fixed for 150$:( I have a brand new one, but it has no warrenty, as it is a US version and I am in the Netherlands. They are still 259 here, but I hear what you say. Getting it fixed is far too expensive. |

Try buying your Xbox the "Huu-ked On Phf-onix"... It worked for me! :)

1. Dead to Rights
2. Halo 3. Max Payne 4. Amped Snowboarding - nothing like a switch backside 540° stalefish... 5. Tony Hawks Pro skater 3 6. All Star Baseball 2003 7. Madden 2003 8. Elder Scrolls III - Morrowmind 9. Rallisport Challenge 10 Knockout Kings |
This is dishonest but it worked for me. I had an orginal playstation that started fucking up a few months after I bought it, and the warrenty had just run out. So I rented a PS and switched them. The place I rented it from just had some sticker to identify their machine, and I spent forever trying to take it off, and stick it on mine. The game store never contacted me about it.
You might think rented systems would go through alot of abuse, but the PS I got from the game exchange still works perfect and this was 5-6 years ago. If your system won't play games at all, you could try saying it kept crashing on you. The game store might think the previous renter fucked with it. Its a gamble and could work or might backfire on you. In my case I didn't mention anything, just returned it and that was it. |
I've never had a problem with my friend's Xbox like that, so I dunno, but maybe call Microsoft customer support LOLOLOLOL

I actually used to work there for 6 years. I was the department manager of electronics and they took back ALL kinds of shit. I remember at one time, they took back a 2-CHANNEL cordless phone, which must've been sold 4 years prior. Anyways, at a time when you could get a 25-channel phone for $20, they ended up giving the customer what they originally paid for it, which was $70 because that's the last price it was before it dropped outta the system, that's just fucking stupid. They also took back a rock in a tv box, MANY MANY items that weren't what they were supposed to be, like people taking the new vcr out, putting their old one in, then returning it. Those service desk people are EXTREMELY stupid when it comes to checking things. Anyways, one other trick that you could try doing would be to do a swap with the serial number stickers on the system itself. I know that with the Playstations, people used to do that, swap out the sticker itself. THAT however, was years ago and I've never seen an Xbox to know how the serial numbers are on there. |
I used to work in the electronics department of Sears while in College and one time someone returned a camcorder. When the dumbass opened the box to check the camcorder there was a fucking brick in it! LOL! The guy got his money back and just ran the fuck out of there.
It was pretty fucking funny! DH |
